probably already been discussed but after seeing the water down a foot this weekend anyone know AP extended fall schedule? Last year was nice well into September from what I recall.

I suggest you may want to check in periodically and offer help to those asking for it rather than always asking for help.

Here is your answer....

Fall Extension

Let me answer your questions sans the snark.  According to APCO they will not extend the drawdown this fall but that of course could always change and I hope it does.  I agree that last year was wonderful and would love to see that every year.  What they do depends on other reservoirs in the Tallapoosa basin do.

Surprisingly snarky reply to an honest question.  He must be having a bad day.

Funny, I have seen both sides from Alabama Power that conditions were met, the extension is on; and conditions were not met and the extension will not happen this year.

So flip a coin and there’s your answer!

I  was just trying to be honest. The Forum enables everyone to exchange information. Asking and not providing help for others is unfair. If someone asks for a painter and uses them...they hould post if they were satisfied or unsatisfied. Life is a 2 way street.

An example...Mr Hodja posted in May about buying a new battery for his pontoon. I posted a picture that included a 20% discount and he posted that he was purchasing one. That is how it should work.

I was not trying to be "snark"...rather suggesting he/she check the Forum and provide help to others.

I did buy the battery and so far all is well.  Thanks again.  Your first post in this thread did seem snarky to me, and I thought it to be out of character for your lake martin posts which are usually helpful and informative.

Maybe inartfully written because I definitely took it as you telling him not to bother us with this redundant question and search the forum for the answer.  As did Hodja.  Maybe we too were having a bad day and read too much into the response....or maybe you're an a-hole that always has some smarta$$ comment.......OK, in the interest of unity, peace and brotherhood I will go with the former explanation.

Only if the coin says on one side "extension is on" and the other side says "no extension not happening".....my distorted idea of heads I win, tails you lose.

You seem to have missed that I did post the site where anyone can drill down for the offical projection...and can keep up with any change. Seems reasonable to me. Hopefully, the poster will help others.

Lake Conditions Message

08/06/2019 - The reservoir elevation at Martin Dam is 489.81 msl. Based on current hydrologic and operational conditions, it is unlikely that the Martin Fall Extension will be implemented this September. A weekly update will be published each Tuesday through September 30th. Lake elevations are always subject to change, depending on conditions.

No I didn't miss that.  It was your opening that came across as snarky.  And I quote, "I suggest you may want to check in periodically and offer help to those asking for it rather than always asking for help."  That my friend is a snarky response.  Always asking for help?!?!?  He was asking a simple question and unlike you, I gave him a simple answer.

Not trying to beat a "dead horse", bui I too saw your post as a snarky remark. Maybe I should not have made this post but it is not intended ito "add fuel to the fire". There's enough dissension without trying to encourage more.

To get back to your question, the power company is required by FERC to post every Tuesday on their website the chances of an extended pool.  If we get some rain soon, then there is a chance, if we don't get a lot of rain before September, then no chance.  Decision is complex and not only depends on rain at Martin, but also on the Coosa River.  Everything hinges on the ability of the Coosa and Tallapoosa to maintain an adequate flow on the Alabama River at Montgomery......may not make sense, but dat's da rule!

I am sorry if I hurt your feelings. I was simply suggesting that you check the Forum and help others who seek advice. That really isn't asking too much.

Well done Goofy....rather than a mea culpa you make it about someone else's feelings.  Just for once admit you made a mistake and simply apologize.  Be a man and stop trying to justify your response.  Maybe you didn't mean it that way but pretty much everyone took it that way which ought to tell you something.  When in a hole........
