OK.  So illegal immigrants were arrested by ICE.  Maybe a few of the children were delivered in the US, but the irresponsible, illegal parents had not followed the law of immigration. The illegal parents are at fault here and they are responsible for the kids, not ICE.  I said law abiding

This article is about the surge in unaccompanied children who came to the US several years. The author was undersecretary of the Air Force at the time. Here's a quote:

"Back in 2014, the makeshift facility at Lackland Air Force Base was open for four months and cared for more than 3,600 children. There were more than 100 Spanish-speaking case workers whose primary task was connecting kids with family, so that Border Patrol officers weren’t in charge of caring for children—a task they were never trained to do.

Officials arranged for English, math, and art classes—and sports—for migrant children; citing budgetary reasons, the present administration has canceled such vital services. Five years ago, children slept in dormitories with beds and blankets, not on ice-cold floors. And dozens of medical staff and resources were available, from a clinical psychiatrist to a mobile medical unit for contagious children, which kept dangers such as flu and lice from spreading."

Those who claim that the Obama administration did the same things as the current one are making false statements. This country used to have a conscience. Those of you who defend present actions have lost yours, if you ever had one.

I read today where some of Trumps "fine" evangelical supporters are very upset at Trumps's use of the word G*d damn on several occasions in a recent campaign speech...you know the speech, the same one where he accused a dark skinned US citizen who is an elected member of congress of hating America and smiling as his supporters, who he describes as great patriots, shout "send her back"!  Lots of "fine" people support Trump but just wish he wouldn't take the Lord's name in vein...no problem with him saying American citizens should leave the country if they don't support his right wing agenda, or that Hispanics are "invading" America, or that an American city is unfit for human habitation, or that a former president was connected to a suicide without presenting any evidence, or that Kim Yung Un is a lovely man, or that he believes Putin but not the 17 US intellegence agencies, or that the press is an "enemy of the people" because they actually report what he says, etc etc etc....but please Mr President, watch your language!

This is typical right-wing partial reporting of the truth in order to intentionally misrepresent the circumstances.

The facility was indeed built under the previous administration to assist in dealing with the surge in unaccompanied children appearing at the border. The cages were to be used to temporarily separate children by gender and age for reasons that hopefully will be obvious even to you. Jeh Johnson said about them, "use of the “cage” detention housing method was supposed to be temporary, and that under the law, children were only supposed to be kept in those facilities for 72 hours before being transferred to the care of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)." 

The present admin is ignoring the law in this and many other instances and housing children who have been forcibly separated from their parents in these cages, sometimes for weeks. Their practices are not a continuation of previous practice; they are brutally inhumane and illegal

Oh ok - so the Oblamer admin built them, used them and stocked them with children, but that is OK because he rotated them like dairy products.

 You logic is intersting that now you are not arguing about "it is inhumane to put children in cages" to well we just did not do it for as long - so therefore we are morally good with putting kids in cages as long as they are sent on with whatever person has borrowed them for $20 or  kidnapped them to use as a key to their border detention or as you put out abandoned to die after the adult crossed the border illegally.

 I do not think you made the point you wanted to make in basically approving of putting children in cages "well that was the law" while Oblamer did it.

We had plenty of examples of the Obama administration deciding which laws to enforce or more importantly not to enforce - Why did they decide that it was good to cage children, they felt it was so appropriate that they built the centers and cages.  Just more left wing talking points about Oblamer did nothing wrong ever but Trump is responsible for acid rain on Venus.
