Sorry for them but the pivot from social issues to local heroes after the $8B write off won't get me back.  Dollar Shave Club or Harry's are a better product at a better price so they have lost me forever.  But hey, according to their CEO it was "worth it."  I think the shareholders ought to be demanding he be fired and then we can ask him if it was worth him and many others in the company that likewise lost or will lose their jobs if it was really worth it.  I would suggest that  when other people lose their jobs or the shareholders take a big hit it is worth but when you lose yours, maybe not so much.

I read in the NYT the other day that shareholders don't hold as much sway as they used to.

Well P&G shareholders certainly don't seem to matter. I think that is probably true because so much of the market is driven by funds and their algorithms that the rest of us are just along for the ride up and down.
