Look back a few months and see the scathing comments on this forum about Ralph Northam's stupid ''blackface'' idiocy and, ironically, the ''Democrat'' hypocrisy it revealed!  Who will be the first to either condemn Gov Kay Ivey as soundly as they condemned Gov Northam or either offer an apology for their Northam comments?  Who will be thr first to demand she resign?

When I was on active duty working as a young O-3 in the Pentagon I worked for a future two star general task master who gave me the worst chewing out of my military career.  He could tell that it I took it seriously...apparently too seriously and he told me this:  "Jim, you made a mistake while trying to get something done.  Don't worry about it, just don't make that mistake again.  I would much rather have an officer who makes an occasional mistake and gets things done than one who never makes a mistake but doesn't get anything done",\.

We should adopt that philosophy with our political leaders.

I can't be hypocritical on this because this is my first comment on the issue.

Northam and Ivey both participated in black face skits (socially accepted in those days but still wrong).  In my opinion neither should resign because of that.

Northam advocates allowing a minutes or hours old human being to lie on a table while the mother and doctor discuss whether to let the baby die .  Nobody has accused Ivey of such a heinous act.  Northam should resign.

So why the interest and wanting to bring the subject to the front of the line?  It is only because now it has a R in the political leaning?  I really do not remember you leading the charge too much about Coonman, now remind me did they ever find out if he was the person in black face, or the one in the KKK dress?

Considering that I did not post anything about his need to resign, or be run out of the state - the only thing I posted was this copied to the bottom of this postwhere he was going to read a bunch of AA books that would help him to understand that what he did was wrong.

The only other post under a search for "coonman" or Northham by me was regarding a photo doughboy put up with three people in KKK garb(two white, one pink) - the comment I posted at the time was it Coonman or Byrd?

So yea I really made a *HUGE* fuss over Coonman and have actually spent more time now posted about Ivy - but please feel free to give us the deep dive breakdown of your results during the coonman crisis vs Ivy.

I personally believe the Gov and perhaps the FL Secty of State (not familiar enough to say for sure) should stick it out.  Stupid things done or said by a youth in the distant past should not always destroy their careers if they have subsequently led productive lives.

Now as for a man in his 50's, who has been a sleaze all his life, who is heard on tape bragging about assaulting women...well he should be thrown out on his butt!

BTW:  I don't believe I read any posts from any of the usual suspects on this forum demanding the immediate firing or resignation of the FL Secty of State.
