On another subject...every January when the ''weather'' turns a bit colder than is usual, somebody on this forum is almost guaranteed to post something along the lines of ''Hey all you libtard DIMOCRAP climate experts out there, where is all this 'GLOBAL WARMING' you keep shouting about? We could sure use some of it now.''  Well it's late September (''typical'' Atlanta high about 75 to 80) and it was 96 in Atlanta yesterday!  Between May and now we have had almost 100 days with temps above 90...double the average!  Maybe it's in Atlanta!!

Yep, it's hot in the southeast and they are having record early snows in the west.  Typical El Niño weather pattern.

Weather and climate are not the same.  Weather does not define climate until it is averaged over a long period.  That being said, l think you would have to confess that Sept 2019 is a bit warmer than what we expect even in the southeast. 

BTW:  According to the International Climate Agency we are in a “neutral” period for El Niño (translation-no El Niño effect at present) with a 75% chance of remaining neutral for the remainder of the year.

The HIGH in Atlanta on Sept 28, 1958 (51 years ago today) was 53.  I remember that because at 13 I went to my first GA Tech football that day with my father and he had a fatal heart attack at a friends house in Ansley Park shortly after the game!

So we are using singles day comparisons mixed with an emotional story  to justify climate change now. We buried our father on March 12, 1993. The blizzard of 93 started with thundering and lightening snowstorm during his grave side service. Therefore we must be in an ice age, right Archie?

ARCH, why and when did the dimokraps change the name from “global warming” to “climate Change”??  Think I know the why!

I do agree we are in the change phase from El Niño to La Niña.  We could be headed to another drought like 2007....hope not.  BTW, I hope you know El Niño/La Niña phases are naturally occurring shifts in warm water off the coast of South America....and not caused by Republicans or CO2!

 I’m not using sob stories to support global warming or climate change, but to try to demonstrate that neither side of the issue can use daily weather to support a climate ideology.  Did you even read my initial post?

Weather and long-term climate are two different but related things.  Please tell that to proponents of Globaloney that sieze on every heat wave, hurricane or tornado to scare the he!! out of gullible kids making them think the world is coming to an end.

As for El Nino, 2019 was indeed an El Nino year and continues to somewhat impact the weather in the northern hemisphere to a lesser degree than when sea temps were higher in the spring and summer 2019.  Not as strong as the El Nino in 2015-2016 but still happened.

Weatherman this morning indicated that we are in the high 90 days above average for this year.  Alabama did make the top 5 - the longest streatch was 1925 or so. the other one we pre 1940s.

Still wondering if Obama purchased that ocean front scuba center as a dive attraction for future generations.
