Just read that Jeff Sessions is exploring the possibility of running for his old senate seat now held by Democrat Doug Jones.  As a former staunch supporter of Senator Sessions and knowing that he reads this forum daily, let me offer him this personal advice..."Ex-Attorney General Sessions, recuse yourself from this endeavor.  Your tenure as Attorney General will forever be etched in the annals of history as an undertaking well beyond your level of comprehension and ability to perform.  Don't think for a moment that you will ever get another vote from me."

Election - choosing the lesser of the evils.

I'll take Sessions over Jones anyday.  Bring back Moore.

Remember remember the third of November Seattle.

I would not vote Sessions in a primary.  Against Jones, I would vote for his opponent even if it was Roy Moore or Sassy.

I don't have a specific dog in this hunt being a Georgia resident but if Sessions can beat Jones then I am all for it.  Sessions may have done Trump a great disservice with his il advised recusal but he will be far better than Jones.  At the end of the day its up to the primary voters in Alabama.

Sessions was smart enough to duck and not get sucked into the Russia Investigation.  I'll bet Barr wishes he had the guts to do it too.

I would vote for Sessions over Doug Jones and especially over Roy Moore.  Whether or not he fondled teenagers years ago doesn't matter to me; but he's been kicked out of office twice and then their was the marriage license decision when he thought that he could overrule the Supreme Court.  There isn't one positive thing about putting him in the Senate, because he won't get anything done, he'll just stir crap up and make Alabama look stupid.

if it's Jones vs Moore?!  That is I suspect the most likely decision that the people of Alabama will face because AU67 and Roy Moore and similar Neanderthals are the face of the Alabama Republican party today.

Arch, you’re racist and bigoted manner is showing again. But I know you just can’t help it.

The issue is not the recusal, it's that he took the job knowing he would recuse himself.  He should have told Trump and I actually believe if Barr had been the AG from the get go there would have been no Mueller investigation because he would have seen the Steele Dossier and the use of news reporting as confirmation as what it was.

But I agree completely about Roy Moore and I really hope the primary voters in Alabama won't make that mistake again.  Regardless of what you think about him and his views, he is too polarizing and controversial to win.  If I lived there I would prefer another, younger Senator but like you, I'd take Sessions over Jones any day of the week.

There are two alternatives to Moore, Bradley Byrne and Tommy Tuberville.  Byrne is a pretty well known Alabama politician and I haven't heard much negative abut him.  I wouldn't rule out Tuberville, even though probably half the state or more would have to gulp and hold their nose when voting for him because his football teams beat Alabama four times in a row.

In any case I can only hope that Alabama wakes up and no longer falls for Moore's Evangelical Ten Commandments schtick.  He is a modern day snake oil salesman.

is anybody gutsy enough to state how you stand if its a Jones vs Moore choice?  It's a choice that looks as if it is very possibly what will face Alabama.  Nobody seems to like either of these guys...are you going to sit it out or screw up your courage and save Alabama yet more (no pun intended) embarassment?

BTW:  Mr H, why do you consider it necessary to insult snake oil salesmen by comparing them to Roy Moore?

Anybody but Jones or Moore

I will consider that a rhetorical question.  I think I made my feelings about Roy Moore pretty clear....

A rehtorical question is one about an unlikely or theoretical situation that is asked to make or reinforce a point of view.  How can a question about a very real possibility be considered rehtorical?  Indeed you have made your feelings about the judge very resoundingly.  Sounds as if you might be struggling to avoid thinking the unthinkable!  You might just be forced kicking and screaming to express grudging support for a...shudder...Democrat.

but what Moore vs Jones is the ONLY real choice...do you stay home thereby helping Moore, do you write in thereby voting for Moore, do you vote 3rd party thus supporting Moore....what DO YOU DO?  If you are an Alabama voter it is a very real decision you may face. Avoiding facing the possibility won't help.

No struggle at all.  Why do you try to make an issue where none existed?  You can take your lame-a$$ed attempts to force someone to agree with you when they don't and put them where the sun don't shine.

So if someone does not vote for Jones and chooses a write in / no vote  - then you are saying that in this election Jones can not win againt Moore only if 100% votes for Jones and nothing else - so you  are already saying that Jones can not win regardless of him being against the the man with more negatives then Hillary, just imagine how poorly he can do against a football coach then.  That tells me he is a pretty crappy canidate who cannot and should not have ever won to start with.

Calm down.  I don't give a rat's fanny whether you would support Moore or Jones.  I do find it interesting that you are finding it impossible answering a very simple question.  If nothing else how about '' I have no idea''.  Here's an example...I would vote for William Weld or John Kasich if either were the Republican candidate over any of the Democratic offerings.  Its really not hard Mr H.

Just look at other posts where someone says something he likes.  He is slavish in praising them like a little child that gets excited over some shiny new toy.  It is really pathetic to see how much he desires affirmation from one of us and how hard he works to get it.  That kind of neediness is more than a little weird.  I can only imagine how orgasmic he would have been had you said you would vote for Jones over Moore.  I think Moore is a putz and more than a little weird but I'd vote for him over Jones.....clearly the lesser of two evils.  Hope it doesn't come to that for Alabama residents.
