Please beware of this merchant if he is recommended to you for PWC repair.  I contacted Cathouse Marine on August 12 about reparing my 2004 Yamaha Wave Runner before Labor Day weekend. DeDe stated they could not guarantee it before Labor Day weekend and recommended Xtreme Marine. I have used Cathouse on the lake and in Millbrook and have always been pleased with their work and price. I contacted Xtreme (Johnny Windham) and he asked me the year and make of my PWC.  I told him and he said labor Day was not a problem. He stated his shop was "right outside of Prattville". On August 13 I drove to his shop  off 82 across from Junipter Inn and on a dirt road.  As soon as I pulled up and he came out he said you didn't tell tell me it was a two stroke.  I told him he didn't ask. I have owned two PWCs in my life and they were both two stroke and i assumed all PWCs were two stroke. He told me the two stroke  changed everthing.

Eleven days later I called him and he stated he had not even looked at it.  I reminded him of his Labor Day promise and he stated he made that promise thinking it was a four stroke.

On the Thursday before Labor Day he called and said it was ready.  He stated he had water tested it (additional $25 charge thats hould have been included as part of the repair) and it ran 68 mph but was sluggish when it was cold at at low speeds.  He stated he put in a gas additive and it should be OK.

I put it in Lake Martin on Saturday August 31 and it did run at high speeds but stalled out at low speeds making it impossible to dock without damage or bodily injury.

I choose not to take it back because he had allready had it 16 days and didn't fix it.

I disputed the charge on my credit card and notified him. I offered to pay him for parts and an hour of labor to settle this matter. He stated that he would not fight my credit card dispute.

Of course he fought my dispute.

PLASE DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID AND USE XTREME MARINE OR YOU WILL BE SORRY!

I am Sorry our reccomendation did not work out for you.  Sometimes we become very backed up in our service dept. and we reccomend other businesses, most frequently around Holidays.  If there is anything we can do here to help, please let us know.  I think Johnny told me about this situation, but I don't remember the particulars.  Call us and I will help you with the current situation.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but--- to me When you tell a repair person that is worth their salt the year, make and model of a pwc, that person should know if a 2 stroke or not.  Having said that, the owner should notify if an upgrade was made.  My 2 cents.!
