I know that here in the U.S. we are fixated on the impeachment debacle and the IG report but yesterday was a historic win for Tories in the election as it gives them a 76-seat majority and sent the liberals packing in places they haven't lost in forever.  The main issue in this election was whether the UK would be sovereign nation or remain in the EU and abdicate their sovereignty to a bunch of technocrats in Brussels.  The people spoke years ago on this issue and Theresa May diddled around and basically did nothing and for that she was summarily dismissed.  It is the will of the people to exit the EU and Boris Johnson will make it happen and now has an overwhelming mandate to do so.  And of course the left is already blaming their leader the anti-Semite Jeremy Corbin rather than acknowledging the failure and unpopularity of their policies.......sound familiar?

So now the EU knows the UK will Brexit and they also know if they don't negotiate in good faith it will be a hard Brexit.  And we shall see if all the prognostications of economic doom that the remainers claim will occur are correct.  Given our experience here in the U.S. with Trump, who so many claimed would cause economic ruin, I am not going to bet the ranch on this killing their economy.  In fact, I am betting on the opposite as they will now be able to decide their own fate rather than being dominated by Germany and France through the EU technocrats.  If I were Trump I'd immediately send a trade delegation to the UK and negotiate a new treaty with them and do everything I could to help them successfully exit the EU.

Even though I think Steve Bannon is nuts, his vision of major transformation of the world from Globalist control to nationalism is slowly coming to fruition.  Of course much if not all of this effort catching on fire in the world was started by Trump.  Impeachment is a desperate attempt to stop this transformation, but the people are taking control back from the elite.  It's a beautiful to watch and marvel.  5 more years of Trump is needed to set the momentum that will not be easily stopped.

congrats to the Brits!

I'm still not sure if Brexit is a good thing or a bad thing.  I see a lot of positives, but I also see a lot of negatives.  It will be interesting to see if any other countries follow their lead, once Brexit finally happens.  While "the people have spoken", do the majority of their voters have the foresight and knowledge to really understand all that is involved and all the long term ramifications?

The UK voted to exit the EU and the elites (that are smarter than the ordinary people) blocked it for 3 years, The people threw them out for not following their wishes. Sound familiar? Trump will bend over backwards to see there is a great trade deal that benefits both countries. Our Dems should take note though I don't expect it.

Considering all these European countries survived just fine without the EU I suspect the people are right on target with this.  The issue for them is whether their own elected officials can better represent them with the rest of the world over a group of elitist technocrats in Brussels.  They want back their right to decide who will make their laws and to be able to hold them accountable.  With the EU they get none of that and they rightly object to the notion.  And Britian very wisely never bought into the Euro so they have their own currency.  I suspect that if this goes well for them we will see other countries exit the EU and it may fall apart altogether.

Not a chance of them taking note.  Whenever the public rejects their policies they just blame the messenger....never the message.

Yeah I get all that but it's tough when you are the first ones to go it alone.  That is why I think it will be interesting to see if anyone else follows suit.
