So Rudy was on TV claiming all kinds of corruption, to include accusing the ousted Ukranian Ambassoador Yovanovitch of perjury and saying that there was significant corruption going on within the Obama administration.  I hope he can back up his claims in court because he is bound to be sued over what he claimed.

Time will tell but Rudy isn't a dumb guy.  While I have my doubts I don't think he would go out on a limb like this if he didn't have some level of evidence to back it up.  What is interesting is the lack of denials or outrage from those caught up in this.  Yovanovitch would certainly seem to have a case for libel if his accusations are untrue.  It takes time to put something like that together so we shall see if she goes on the offensive.  The problem with filing a lawsuit like this, in addition to the cost, is that it opens up discovery and lawyers on both sides have a lot of latitude to request paper and digital documentation.  That info could either be exculpatory or damning and her attorneys would likely advise her of that.....unless she goes the Cohen route and hires someone like Panetta who will be more interested in harming Guiliani than defending his client.  But at the end of the day I would be pretty surprised if he would make these statements if he doesn't have something to back it up.  He's been going to Ukraine and elsewhere for going on two years so who knows what he has found.  The silence from Biden (father and son), Obama, Yanovitch, et al so far is deafening.

I honestly think Rudy is saying things to get the attention off of what he is doing.  Sorry, as I have indicated many times before, I'm not a fan of Rudy.  I think he acts on Trump's worst impulses

Biden is not a threat to Trump, so why even go there?  I just want them to get this impeachment crap behind Trump and move on.

Rudy wants to be sued.  He can then defend himself and they can't shut him up.  When the jail cell door goes clunk we will all have to listen how he brought down the untouchables!

The jest of Rudy's work is to show corruption of the elite.  Ever wonder how these govt officials start their careers with little money and leave their service as millionaires?  This is part of the swamp draining.  Go Rudy go!

They also are reported to have recently purchased an ocean-front property on Martha's Vineyard for approximately $15mm.  Not bad for an ex "community organizer."  Apparently the threat of rising sea-levels resulting from global warming did not deter him from buying a property that would be among the first impacted by such an event.  Kind of interesting if you think about it considering all of the dire predictions made by his administration.

Nah.....that was plain old graft.  They awarded a publisher a $300M+ contract without bids and then when Obama leaves office they give him his cut of $63M for a "book" deal, which even if it gets ghost written, it will be a huge money loser.  Quid pro quo.

Interesting, I had not heard of a connection between a prior publishing house government contract and the Obama book deal before, but then, I dont get out much.  I have seen some Trump tweets that the deal should be investigated, but I took that in the context of the rancor and discord that has seemed to consume our federal government representatives in recent years.  I believe that presidential book deals have been common since the U.S. Grant administration, and they have gotten more lucrative as time has passed.  Like Obama or hate him, (I am in neither catagory, FWIW) many people will probably buy his book (and his wife's) so I would be more inclined to believe that the publishing house made a business decision that it could make a profit even after advancing such a large sum.  However, if you have some evidence that Obama, while in office, ordered some federal agency to award the publishing house a $300mm contract so that, after he left office, he would receive a lucrative book deal from them, then by all means you should take that evidence to the proper authorities ASAP.

Oh I can assure you that they were way smarter than that and Obama used cutouts.  They will just claim it was coincidence that the publisher that got hundreds of millions from the Federal goverment for Common Core gave the Obama's tens of millions in an advance for a book.  I frankly think this is SOP with the government and one of many reasons why becoming an elected official is like winning the lottery.  It is interesting that this is the largest advance ever for a former President and while I think the book will sell a lot of copies I would surprised if it turns out to be a money maker for them.  Even the Vox article discussing the deal expressed skepticism that it would be a good investment.....of course they didn't take into account all the money they made with their contract with the government.

as proven by his record over the last 3 years.  He is also inow in way over his head, hurting Dear Leader every time he opens his mouth, and the smart money says he will soon be indicted by the very Federal Justice district he once ran before he lost his freakin mind!

bottom line...keep talkin Rudy, keep talkin!

I don't know, MM.  That sounds far fetched.  Obama was very popular in general, and I think his book would sold, no matter what.  General Services Administration would have had to negotiate the contract, which is pretty far removed from the WH.  They literally do thousands of contracts every year.  Now if you told me that Obama's rep negotiated the deal before they left the WH, I can buy that, and that he and Michele insisted on a big advance.

Money is made in much murkier water than that.  You know Obama didn't buy his house in DC - someone bought it and gave it to him and I am sure that someone is giving him the house on Martha's Vineyard.  (much like Coaches in the South get bought houses and paid off mortgages).  They get sweet deals from lobbyists, they get personal "forgiven" loans, lucarative speaking fees, and they get a lot of advice about wise investments - we won't call it insider trading.... That's how they make their money.

Time will tell if the book makes money for the publisher.  A $65M advance plus publishing and promotion costs will require a lot of books to cover those costs.  And I'm not sure it will sell as well as you think it will.  But hey, it's their money to spend.  As for how the deal for the Common Core publishing was done, I really don't know.  But it does seem quite the coincidence that the winner is also the one to offer them a record setting advance.....

You may be right about him, or you may be wrong.  I do think that calling him crazy given he's spent two years investigating the corruption is going out on a limb.  Especially when you consider the deafening silence of those he has accused despite him almost literally daring them to sue him.  If I had been accused falsely in public like that I would be all over the talk shows calling him a liar and threatening to sue for libel.  None of that has happened so far which should at least give you pause in calling him out like this.  I suspect he has shared his evidence with the administration and they don't seem to be distancing from him on this which is likewise telling.

But as I said above, time will tell.  He could be proven to be a huckster.......or he could have the goods on some very powerful people.  And he's taking no chances by telling the world he has the information in a safe place in case he commits Arkincide.

Careful, Archie.  Your opinion, falsely expressed as an absolute, may end up being wishful thinking.  Time will tell.

Wishful thinking is a primary attribute of the left.  They wish Obamadon'tcare worked.  They wish Trump's policies didn't work.  They wish impeachment would tank Trump's approval numbers.  They wish all sorts of things that simply are not the case.   Likewise they are wishing and hoping Rudy is blowing smoke......as we both said, time will tell.  Wishes and $5.50 will get you a non-fat soy latte at Starbucks.

Looks like I won the office pool - when we noticed that Antifatech had been gone for a while we started taking bets on when/if he was going to come back.  I chose in peach mint day.

$50 is $50

Congrats but don't count your winnings yet.  Saw on the news the GOP may try to extend debate past midnight just to torture the Democrats and get rid of the conincidence of being the same day Clinton was impeached in a bipartisan vote of the House for actually committing a crime.  The sad thing is he will actually think of this as a victory when it will end in abject defeat.  Not only will Trump be acquitted in the Senate but he will ride the wave of anti-impeachment sentiment all the way to winning in 2020.  The slew of recent polls have been devastating to the left.  Even the support of Democrats is dropping like a rock.  It's even worse with Independents.  This is what you get when you lose control of your caucus to socialists and left wing nut activists.  They believe so much that just isn't true and no amount of facts, logic or reason can overcome their TDS.
