So I will be first to admit I didn't watch.  But there was all sorts of buzz about Ricky Gervais' opening monologue so I had to watch it.  Only 7 minutes long but filled with more truth about Hollywood than you'll see in Variety magazine in a decade.  He skewered them in ways that will hurt for a long time.  Let me put it this way, if Ricky vacations in the Hamptons it will be a very quiet one as he will not get invited to any of the "best" parties.  All humor has an element of truth and the looks on many faces in the audience tells you they are not used to hearing reality the way it really is.  If you are so inclined I recommend finding and watching it.  He was dead on and funny.  And by the way, Jeffery Epstein didn't kill himself.

Didn't watch it because I can't stand all that self importance.   I look at the recaps to see who won and to see how ridiculously some of them were dressed.  

  I did watch 60 Minutes trying to impress that Jeff Epstein did not kill himself.  I don't really care either way - the man was a disgusting pig and I'm just glad he is dead so we don't have to support him in prison.  Lesley Stahl did a good job skewering the FDA about why there can be no inpsections of pig farms (it's unfair to the farmers - as though we are talking about a man wearing coveralls; and not some millionaire pig grower) and highlighted the fact that there are very few USDA ispectors in the pig butchering inspection line -seems we are trusting companies to police themselves doing their own inspection.  Made me not want to eat pork for a long while.

Never.  He doesn't even pretend to be non-partisan.  As far as I'm concerned, once Tim Russet departed, the show has gone steadily downhill until now it is just the Liberal show.  It seems like any show with a panel discussion will now be front loaded with liberals and any sacrificial conservative will not be allowed to speak.

Under Trump, the rules for pig slaughterhouses are changing..."The new rule would remove 40 percent of government food safety inspectors from the pig slaughter plants, turning their tasks over to plant operators with no required training, and allow plants to aggressively increase their already breakneck line speeds to process more hogs per hour." Enjoy your bacon, ham, and pork chops until the first recall. Less regulation is good for profits and the donors to Trump. The Right wants less regulation...trust the plant owners to police themselves.
