Any thoughts on whether lake will be drawn back down to winter level? Ive got a big pile of brush on the lake bed i need to burn, but right now its in about a foot of water.

I'm gonna ask you to sit down, because this is going to be a really big shock to your system.

The lake levels are managed by Alabama Power, not the whimsy of some engineer with a lever, people on a message board or mere chance and happenstance. See - aren't you glad you were seated?

Even MORE shocking in 2020 this little ol' APCO has a website, with sections dedicated to the information people on and around their lakes might want or need to know. I'm hopeful that you aren't just reading this forum in printed form that your grandson is giving you and that you have actual internet access and perhaps, just maybe, a browser with ability to bookmark or search for sites.

Just in case you don't, here's their latest advisory:

Lake Conditions Message

Martin’s lake level has peaked and is expected back to winter pool around January 29. Individuals should always stay alert to changing conditions and be prepared to take the necessary steps to protect their property.

If you want to get really crazy (or your grandson who is reading this) you can hop on over to this site from time to time when these pressing questions arise.

Lake Martin specific info - get OUT of here!!

Finally, in case you've not tried out this newfangled thing called The Google, a link as a sample:

Great Googly Moogly!!!

Oh happy day!

Very rude and obnoxious. Gladly I remember when this forum was welcoming, informative and fun. But then so was the LML magazine.

Well at any rate the level is diving like a rock.

Lake Martin is too much of a happy place to get fussy.

Hey download the Smart-lake app.  It lets you know how much water they are  releasing down stream.
The problem is the downstream is high up on the banks.  So obviously they have to manage how much water they can release.

They want to run generators as much as possible it just needs to dry up for awhile.
