Why is Moscow Mitch counting votes to keep Bolton from testifying??? The House is like a Grand Jury and the Senate holds the trial. Witnesses are called during a trial.

Who votes to acquit or convict in a trial?  That would be the jury.  Who votes to acquit or convict in an impeachment?  That would be the Senators.  Ergo, the Senators would be the jury.  Tell me why you keep making a fool of yourself?

Really?  So how many witnesses have been called in to testify during this "trial" so far?  I have watched probably 75 - 80% of the proceeding and I have seen exactly ZERO witnesses called.  This isn't like a regular trial that happens in courtrooms throughout the country.  And, while the Senate can subpoena additional witnesses if they chose, they will run into the same executive privlege defense that the House would have encountered had they bothered to follow existing precedent and actually submitted the impeachment inquiry to a vote of the ENTIRE House prior to Pelosi delegating it to the [Lack of] Intelligence Committee, before issuing subpoenas.  So now, the democrat controlled house is asking the republican controlled senate to wash their soiled sheets so they can oust a republican president 9 months prior to election.  Yeah, I'm pretty sure that is going to end well for them.

It is a shame that it has not been a trial - 90% of the dim evidence would have been objected to as hearsay/2nd/3rd/52 hand, the case

Due process and the rights of the president would not have been trampled by Nazi Pelosi.

The trial would probably have never made it to the jury as the judge would have seen through the shame that it is.

Not to mention the prosecutors would have probably been disbarred for violations of the presidents rights.

Because the House, in their rush to impeach, didn't do their job and subpeona all the witnesses.  They didn't want the delay that would occur as a result of a legal battle over Executive Privilege, which they know they will lose anyway.  And they also know that when they lost the court case the one article, obstruction of Congress, would likewise go away and they would be left with abuse of power.  They also know they haven't got a case there because: 1) that doesn't fall under impeachment; and 2) Ukraine got the money and there was no investigation of the Biden's.  As Dershowitz very eloquently and logically pointed out in his presentation, even if what Bolton was alleged to have written were true it is not even remotely an impeachable offense to want to do something you didn't do, to stop something you didn't stop to get something you didn't get.

So to sum it all up, they knew this was DOA because there is no reasonable argument for a conviction so they are trying to inflict as much damage as possible politically to Trump and GOP Senators.  Frankly, the only reason there is any consideration of witnesses is that RINO's like Romney hate Trump and a couple of other Senators are more worried about their reelection that doing what is right.

Meanwhile, Biden, Mayor Pete, Little Mike, et al are free to campaign away while Crazy Uncle Bernie, Fauxahontas, et al are stuck in their chairs being bored to death.  So they also have that going for them in the timing surrounding sending the articles to the Senate.  What they miscalculated was the damage this is doing to Biden as the media are finally forced to at least cover the corruption although they are doing their best to avoid it.

But Biden thinks he found a way to fix that damage - it was reported this morning that he would like Moochelle as his VP and would give Oblamer a SCOTUS seat if he gets an open one(or just makes up one like most dims have been wanting to stack the court with more of their ilk, which will probably help some of the Dims move back to Biden and COULD help head off Hillary jumping in at the convention.
