My understanding of this story is Dershowitz is saying that Obama ordered the investigation of someone at the behest of George Soros.  Wasn't clear to me that it was the investigation of Trump.  The point he was making is that this happens all the time and is not a good idea, but it's hardly unique to Trump.  What is unique is that Trump does so in the open rather than whispering in the ears of DOJ and the FBI.  And he claims to have proof that Obama ordered an investigation for Soros.  

This is one of the things I like about Trump, even though it might seem to harm him politically.  He does things for the world to see rather than slinking about in the background like former Presidents.  And while many criticize him for it, he is probably right.  Former Presidents, especially Obama, were protected by the deep state because they never tried to change the status quo.  If Trump behaved like them we would almost certainly have the breathless BREAKING NEWS. TRUMP SECRETELY ORDERS INVESTIGATION INTO......!!!!!!  Always based on some anonymous White House source, blah, blah, blah.

Agreed.  When these FBI notes come out in trial, it will finally reveal the evil that lurks in the swamp.  Hope he has heavy security with copies strategically located.  These are dangerous people!

Poor Bolton sees his millions going down...... so I guess he figures he better try to make it up on the lecture circuit.

Trump is correct in turning up the heat under Barr.  If all the DOJ can do is prosecute Trump supporters for coerced process crimes while letting the well known criminal behaviour go untouched, then Barr must not be really interested in draining the swamp.  Let him resign or fire him, get an AG in there that is truly in Trump's corner and agrees with his agenda.  I have about lost all confidence in Barr and am dubious at best with whatever work product Durham produces leading to criminal prosecution.  

They say that when the noise gets deafening, you are over your target, however in Barr's case, I don't believe that axiom.

I share your pessimism about Durham and Barr.  The decision not to prosecute McCabe, the assignment of deep state actors to oversee the investigation of DOJ and the FBI and the IG report conclusions does not inspire confidence that this two-tiered system of justice will ever get fixed.  I would love to be wrong about both of them but I am not optimistic they will rise above my low expectations.  Having said that, Barr is a dramatic improvement over Sessions.....which I admit is a pretty low bar.
