And claims he will sweep the nation.  Heaven help us.  Having watched what he had to say at the debates last week, our country is in serious trouble if he is the best that Democrats have to offer.  But it is scary how popular he is with the younger generation who don't seem to make the connection that more "free" programs will mean higher taxes for everyone, not just the 1% as Bernie claims.  He literally said that he hates billionaires and wants to take their money and give it away.

I think that Bernie's platform of student loan forgiveness is very popular with many in 20's and 30's demographic.  It is truly amazing how much debt some kids incur pursuing a college degree that will, at best, land them a job as an Assistant Manager at a Dollar General upon graduation.

I think that is because their parents tell them to "follow their bliss" and they end up with degrees that are useless.  Whenever I read an article about someone with high student debt and they are whining about not being able to get a job, it's because they went to graduate school to study "philosophy" or English literature or some thing equally unemployable.  One of my friends, who has a PhD in European History told me when he got his degree, he wanted to teach, but there were no teaching jobs.  He ended up taking the State Department Exam and working for them.  

There are many ways to get an education that do not require heavy student debt.  It's just these young people who have been handed everything their entire lives, don't want to look for alternatives.
