I really, really hope they means test this move and only help out people that actually need it.  While the panic has had some impact on my business none of my employees have missed a paycheck and we simply do not need the cash.  It should be targeted to people that have lost income and not just giving everyone a check.  That will be where it can really help because if they send it to me I'm just going to donate it to charity but a lot of people are going to put it in the bank and it won't stimulate the economy.  Send it to people who need it and they will spend it and it will help.  

Having said all that, it isn't going to help those businesses that are shuttered or severely impacted (airlines, hotels, etc.) so I hope they will also do something to help them.  I also appreciate the extension of time to pay our estimated taxes.  That will leave a quarter of a million in our line of credit availability for an additional 3 months which will be very helpful.  Pushing out that cash right now could force layoffs if our business slows down.

My senitment exactly.  Send more money to less people because what is $1000?  Not much when you are talking about monthly expenses.  Have already filed my 2019 taxes and will send of my quarterly taxes next month.  But my heart goes out to those that were caught up short by having their business suddenly shut down.  Even if you are offered a low interest loan, you still have to pay it back, and who knows how long it will be before businesses regain their footing.

daughter is a professional head hunter for  national company doing placements of high tier   level college placements for major universities private & public --presidents, deans etc--company via video today  said layofffs start next week

Hound, I believe you don't have to actually send the money for your quarterly estimate for 90 days past April 15.  Still have to file the return but you can hold onto your cash for three months without penalty or interest.
