in actual human trials and until such trial occur no conclusions can be drawn.  A similar drug is proving to be promising and somewhat effective in about 70% of the patients receiving the drug in a 1500 patient trial but there must be more and larger trials and extensive research including whether there are any permanent negative reactions.  Losartin, the drug I have taken for years for hypertension, is also being investigated since it seems to make it difficult for the Coronavirus pathogen to attach to healthy cells.  A few days ago somebody posted another link to a rightwing site talking about another for certain cure, an HIV drug...well it has now been proved to be of no meaningful use in treating Covid -19.

Maybe we should let the researchers do the work to come up with a treatment rather than depending on political websites or the words of a politician who is trying to make up for complete incompetence during 11 of the last 12 weeks not to mention other screw ups as far back a 2 years ago.

If you had you would have understood the results but also the limitations of the study.  Not a double blind placebo study but conducted by expert physicians and researchers. 

all of that is immaterial.  Last night on Tucker and later on hanity first line doctors say they are using the malaria drug as the first treatment and find it successful.  My wife happens to take this med for her immuno condition which was successful in arresting that condition (similar to lupus).  It is a maintenance drug over the past ten years.  

the elitists at FDA accept no foreign research even if it kills you.  At least the president pressured to approve it for research purposes which reduces the doctors liability for off label use.  If I get this virus (wife just returned from Morocco) I will find a doc to prescribe it for me patterned afterwards the dosage amounts used in the studies for a six day period.  

read the study link before calling it junk science.  Everyone who tests positive should take this like they would antibiotics.

before falsely claiming l called the research “junk science”.  It is amazing how so many on this forum can jump to conclusions before the conclusion is known.  There is great and positive evidence that some of these drugs will be very effective but I sure hope those doctors on Fox keep their liability premiums paid up.

Then of course one might also wonder why we even need a cure...after all “only 15 people are effected and soon there will be none.”

Are the 40 human sick with the virus not "human"?  That's all these guys were reporting.  Sorry your message seemed to paint a different conclusion.  And yes the FDA has insinuated that this is not real science.  At least they are allowing people like me to try a 50 year old drug as a compassionate approval.  Front line doctors are already using as off label in lieu of a respirator which more than likely ends badly.  

everyone is so negative in this fight confusing the general public.

and it is coming from the top!  The president, after showing signs he had repented seemsto be now again reverting to singing from a different hymnal than the one that will bring healing and salvation.  I will pay heed to the sermon from Dr Fauci given today over the divisive words coming from the false profit standing at the same pulpit.  Dr Fauci is preaching the realistic truth, not pessimism.

FDA says goodbye, not proven double blind research, phase 1,2,3, and 4, sorry.   Why are we even trying?  Just kiss us old folks goodbye!  Maybe the swamp needs new ideas.

and Gov of LA says N. O. hospitals will be overwhelmed in a week.

Nope, Vacation delayed until Oct (hopefully) because my wife and I have no interest under current conditions in being in a place with barely existant medical facilities unless we travel 70 miles, all restaurants are closed for everything but takeout and the State Park where I enjoy hiking is closed.  That takes a lot of fun out of it.  I will just hole up in Atlanta with my gin and tonic, watch the dogwoods put on their show, try to get a little work done, watch our retirement funds disappear and continue to speak up against the threat to this country that l consider to be far greater than Covid 19 and the economic collapse combined.
