After working in a bipartisan fashion all weekend Senate Democrats nixed a $1.8T bill for who knows what reason.  Say a prayer that they come to their senses and get this package done.  But if the markets tank again and you or someone you know loses their job this week it is because of Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.

What one employment sector where all the employees are being paid?  Government.  They are all getting paid vacations at our expense while businesses large and small are furloughing employees, many of which will never reopen.  But government employees are getting paid while sitting at home.  Unless and until they suffer the same consequences as the private sector as a result of their decisions we will continue to see their despicable behavior.

Interesting.  Would have thought Archie would be all happy about their obstruction.  Deepens the crisis. Tanking the economy even more so they can hopefully get their wet dream of Trump losing in November.  Seems that a number of commentators are talking about how it may actually backfire.  And why not?  Imagine how bad things would be if we had an Obama-like economy and Hillary wasted on Chardonnay instead of jumping all over this.

Now we are seeing the media calling for not covering the task-force press conferences.  Apparently they are too effective and Trump's job approval numbers are rising as a result of his leadership.  Cuomo and Newsom aren't helping as they have both complimented the President on his handling of the crisis.  And now the news about some potentially effective treatment regimes which is possibly the worst news that the left could hear.

What a "despicable" bunch of yo-yo's we have representing "we the people". They are not "feeling" any of the "deprivation" being felt by our entire "population" while they sit in their "cozy" offices in which they were elected "by the people" and continue to play "politics". Pelosi and Democrats even tried to ensure federal funding for abortion as part of the coronavirus economic stimulus plan. They show no "empathy" for those experiencing "hardships" unlike any in our past "history". The Democrats in Congress are continuing to use every "oportunity" they can "devise" to try and continue their "ire" against President Trump.

They are teleworking.  THEY ARE WORKING AT HOME.  One of my sister's works for the Army, and the other works as a contactor in an Army office.  In both buildings there have been people diagnosed with the virus.  My one sister who works in program management says they are working to see where they can recoop money that has been allocated, but not yet obligated.  My other sister works in supply chain management, continuing to support our troops.  

There are plenty of people in private industry that are also home.  Some of them can telework, and I'm sure that is what they are doing, and others are likely working on their yard.  

Given the situation, I think your remarks are inconsiderate and ill informed.

I hope people are taking notes and remember Congressional members and what they did not get done, when the next election comes around.  This is why the gun lobby won't work with them - give them an inch and they want more and more.  The things they want to add to this bill are just ridiculous.  Right now, what they are refusing to pass is merely the procedural bill - not the actual money itself.

I have no problems with those in Congress who understand their jobs and are doing everything in their power to fulfill the responsibilities of the position to which they were elected. My main rant is directed at those whose main objective rests with usng any means possible to continue to show their disdain for President Trump. It is those people who are still willing to go to any extreme(including actions that may be detrimental to the health and well being of our own citizens), just because they can't accept the fact that President Trump is the President of the people of the United States. His accomplishments over almost four years in office have more than fulfilled his ideals to Make America Great Again.

The culprits I am most concerned about are the Main Stream Media(MSM) and the Democrats in Congress who have wasted almost four years without accomplishing a "single" thing that can be counted as a "legislative" action that benefits our country. The MSM has gone overboard in perpetuating and magnifying the "panic" that has resulted from the Coronavirus pandemic. It seems they could at least offer some degree of "solace" in such a time of fear and distress. I think the MSM should be taken to task for being "alarmist" and creating unnecessary "anxiety". In some situations I look at their actions as 'betraying' the public when they are promoting "news and stories" that are "designed" to sway a person's "understandig" away from the "actual" truth.

Really?  They're all working from home?  How is the person that issues new drivers licenses working from home?  How is the person that works in the tax assessors office working from home?  How do the people that work in the courts do their work from home?  How many of the administrative personnel working from home?  How are all the millions of govt workers working from home? Sure, some of them may be just like many of my employees are working at home.  But I can assure you that most of them cannot do their work at home.  You have such a narrow focus on what constitutes govt employees and only think of the professionals that work in DC, many of whom are probably able to work from their homes.  Whether they are is anyone's guess.

But tell me Hound, how many govt workers have lost their jobs as of today?  How many of them are not getting a paycheck like millions of Americans?  The answer is zip, zero, nada.  They are not feeling the economic pain of the American and never do.  Even when the govt is shut down they get paid when it reopens.  Sorry, but my comment isn't inconsiderate or ill informed.  It is based on reality.

MM, first of all, neither of my sisters work in the DC area.  

Secondly, why do you think that this is some kind of sin - these people aren't on vacation - they are quarentined at home, like many people, doing what their President has asked them to do.  They are not at home out of choice, having a gay old time.  And guess what?  If Trump decides tomorrow that they have to go back in their offices, they will have to do so.  You pick out a very small minority of people that have face to face contact with the public and try to extrapolate that into some large percentage.  I've noticed you do that with a lot of things - I guess that is why you are what you are - and not a statistician.  

You are not an expert on government workers any more than I am, but at least I was one and have some idea of what it is like, and not some cockeyed image based on a very biased view.

I agree with you about the media.  They are responsible for the run on supplies.  Just on Sunday I saw two attempts to create panic.  ON CBS Sunday Morning (which I watch because they usually have good segments and hardly ever politics) they were interviewing Drs. about what happens to you have one ventilator and two patients - how do you decide who lives or dies; and on 60 Minutes, an interview that suggested that the banks are wobbly.  

I don't know why they want to create panic when neither situation is happening now and just implanting ideas in people's minds.  As if they aren't panicked enough.  I keep reminding myself that in a country of approximately 350M people that 300 thousand sick spread over 50 states is not a huge percentage.

My wife worked for the EPA for 10 years, I work with state, federal and local government agencies every single day.  Just take my examples and tell me how many of them are working from home.  And answer the damn question, how many of them aren't getting paid?  The answer is not one of them has lost their income, unlike millions of other Americans.  Talk about BS......that is a dump truck full.

Oh and by the way, we use stats all the time in our industry so I can assure you I know far more about lies, damn lies and statistics than you do.  Heck, I even took a stats course in undergrad and another one in grad school so compared to you I am almost an expert.
