''When you have 15 cases infected and the 15 within a couple of days is going down close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done.'' Donald J Trump...Feb 27 2020

Today, 25 days later...41,396 infected!  Good job Mr President!

out the truth that most on this forum fail to ackowledge because they refuse to admit that the current leadership of this nation has failed ''bigley''!

I do need a vacation and if DJT had gotten on top of this 3 weeks earlier when he was receiving flashing red light warnings instead of feeding us nonsense and happy talk maybe I would still be planning that 16 days on the Panhandle.  I suspect we all need a break but...see above.

Isn't there a Florida panhandle site you can troll?  Your act here is getting really old.

Archie,

We can't even get on top of the flu season when we have a years worth of data to base our vaccines upon.  Your arbitrary assumption is not validated by the data, but then again, what else is new.

This is the most intelligent post I have seen from you, in like, ever.  Accordingly, I will take your sage advice.  See ya!!

swine flu of ‘09-’10, Remember 60 million infected, 330,000 hospitalized, and 14,000 dead (151k - 575 k dead worldwide)  AND IT WAS FIRST IDENTIFIED IN THE US AND SPREAD WORLDWIDE.

Who was VP during this pandemic?  Did you and the MSM blame your guys then Archie?  Why did it have to become a global pandemic so quickly? Was this Dem administration too slow to close borders, limit travel, quarantine?  Why was there unpreparedness?  How long did it take for the CDC to offer a vaccine? Why were our stockpiles of PPE and respiratory equipment insufficient?   At least the specific strain of the H1N1 virus was sensitive to Tamiflu in younger patients and it still spread around the globe.   No such antiviral sensitivity exists with COVID 19.  A virus the likes of which the world has never  experienced and you find fault with one individual and his team's response?

I wish your party and the MSM offered proactive solutions rather than day after day, devising old, stale, blame Trump talking points.  When we get to the other side of this, and we will, history will show that this administrations response was exemplary and with a few corrections, will be the standard for governmental behaviour during future pandemics.  And rightly show that the Dem party (your party) sat on the sidelines and watched the adults get after it, offering commentary along the way that served no patient purpose.

Look at your first line...60 million infected, 14,000 dead.  That is a motality rate of .0023%.  That's about half the motality rate of the saesonal flu.  Swine flu was no fun, but perhaps there was no great concern and no panic because it became clear that the virus though highly infectuous, it was not extremely deadly.  If this thing gets to 60 million, and some qualified people say that number and more is not out of the realm of possibility, and has even the lowest end fatality rate we are talking 2 to 4 million dead!  I am not trying to be an alarmist but as I have said before...ALWAYS ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION!!  You obviously are more interested in doing a Trump and blame-shift to presumed ''mistakes'' that happened in the past rather than urging the current leadership to not make real ''mistakes'' today.

So Oblamer did not err on the side of caution and is excused from this exercise because he was an idiot.

Trump has done much more, but in your opinion because orange man bad he should have done more, faster - after which you would accuse him of being a dictator and push for impeachment.

Your are a sick man.

Not extremely deadly?  I was not aware that there were "shades" of deadly.  Tell that to age group that was most susceptible to the H1N1, children and young adults.

Take your political blinders off!

For those who lost a loved one H1N1 was as awful as it gets but at least there were ''only'' 14,000 of such, sad and bad but not 2,000,000+.  What are you going to say a few months from now to the potential 2,000,000 who lost loved ones to Covid-19...''so sorry Joe Biden didn't do what should have been done to stop the Swine Flu.''

You know something, I do not know whether Joe Biden failed with the Swine Flu or not but I do know on Jan 17 he had an editorial in USA Today advising action to avert a Coronavirus pandemic whereas weeks later on Feb 27 Donald Trump was congratulating himself because we only had 15 cases that would soon drop to zero.  I am sure I come across as an arrogant ass, my wife certainly reminds me often enough I can be, but you are coming across to anybody willing to be honest, as a man grasping at straws!!

No straws Archie, we in healthcare deal only with apolitical facts and datato the best of our abilities and expertise.  Your extrapolation of 2mil+ is just that, an extrapolation from someone with no expertise whatsoever in public health epidemiology.

Nobody is saying definitively 2,000,000 will die and I doubt it will be so severe and of course all of us pray it will not come to pass, but people in the field of contageous diseases that are a certainly a lot smarter than me and possibly, though not likely, even smarter than you and MM, are warning that it could happen.  It could happen IF we don't take the strong measures taken in China, S Korea, Singapore and now Italy.  The strong measures needed are still not nationwide as they should be and even the very weak nationwide measures that have been taken are chafing the president so severely that he is now hoping to invite the nation to fill the pews on Easter Sunday.  ''The cure can't be worse than the disease.'' Well let's hope his sugar coated ''cure'' doesn't doesn't make the disease a national suicide mission.

"The strong measures needed are still not nationwide as they should be and even the very weak nationwide measures that have been taken are chafing the president so severely that he is now hoping to invite the nation to fill the pews on Easter Sunday."

And to think just the other day you were spouting some nonsense about hoping to go to the beach house if Trump has not shut down the planet with a global shelter in place.

One day you were against it, then for it.  Chances are you are now calling for the nation wide strong measures so tomorrow you can blame Trump and say he denied you your rights.

Hopefully there is a clinic nearby you can visit that is still seeing patients - I am sure they can help, the first step is admitting you have/are the problem.

Hows your bananas?
