I have to give him credit for raising his profile and coming across as a leader through this pandemic.  However, while he deserves credit for the response he deserves lots of criticism for past decisions that have caused NY to the epicenter of the Wuhan virus.

  1. He was warned early by his heath department director and decided not to act.
  2. He had an opportunity in 2015 to spend funds to buy 16,000 ventilators as recommended but instead decided to spend that money on solar panels.  And he instructed his health dept director to instead come up with a plan to ration ventilators instead.

So when you watch him criticize or blame others for the mess he is deflecting.

His very obvious CYA BS has me watching History Ch, this time of day.  Why he is given free access to all networks is beyond me....I guess all the networks are in the virus bowl together and think the whole nation cares about their big cesspool.  Yes, I’ve spent business time in NYC, but, NO, I would never live there.

The problem with NYC is you have 8M people living in a small geographic area that is punishing to anyone that owns a car.  So many people move around by subway and cab, eat out in small crowded restaurants, etc.  It also has the highest population of Chinese-Americans so it probably makes sense that there may be a lot of travelers to and from China.  It also has three large airports.  In essence it is an incubator for a pandemic.  Add NJ into the mix, where a lot of NYC people work, and it gets even worse.

NY/NJ combined accounts for 52% of the total Wuhan virus cases and 51% of the deaths in the entire country (so far).  So if you literally remove those two states all our numbers drop in half.  The real question is whether they are the canary in the coal mine and were impacted earlier than other places or they are an outlier and it won't be as bad elsewhere.  I suspect the latter primarily because of all the reasons above that make NY/NJ unique and the measures taken in other states as a result of what happened there.

Read an article by Byron York who doesn't think there is a path for them to do that without causing a revolt in the party and may not even be possible given the rules.....but then again, when have Dems ever cared about the rules?

I saw a campaign today to draft him for 2020.   Biden offered to call Trump to discuss the virus.  Cuomo reminds me of most of the NYers I have know (and I have known a lot, living in NJ) - everything that happens to them is the worst, they whine more than anyone else, and they are never satisfied until things are completely arranged to their liking.  I don't want to hear Cuomo drone on and on for the next 4 years.
