Heard a rumor that all AL gas pumps were going to be shut off as of tomorrow.   Only truckers and people with a special card will be able to get gas.  Anyone else hear this?

If you got a still you can make some hand sanitiser while you are at it.  Just know that they want you to add bitterants so you do not just drink it.

I was a Chemistry major in college and worked as a lab assistant in order to earn some spending money.  We received our ethanol in 55 gallon drums and my job was to add phenolpthalein before putting it out in the lab.  For those who don't know, phenolpthalein is an extremely strong laxative.  If some adventuresome student were to decide to avail themselves of a cheap drunk, they would spend several days after on the "throne".  Of course the instructors insisted the alcohol was already denatured (rendered unfit to drink), which made me wonder why I had to add the ExLax.  So, one day I tried just a sip and all I remember is the taste of rubber from the fittings they must have used in their distillery.  Never tried it again.

Your story sorta describes what MD 20-20 tastes like.  Don't worry, it only happened to me once and that was over 50 years ago
