Subject:   Why the Payroll Protection Program was brilliant

Something occurred to me today about the PPP.  The premise is that small businesses will maintain their payroll for an 8-week period and if they do the government turns it into a grant.  Here's the brilliant part.  Direct payments to citizens, unemployment, etc. generate no tax revenue.  So in reality with the PPP, the Feds will get back anywhere from 15% to 25% of the funds in the form of taxes paid by employees.  The other money they are shelling out is just gone.  The PPP will result in tens of billions in tax revenue.

My source told me that was Nancy's idea. Glad we agree it was a brillant move.

Your source as usual was wrong.  A little history for you.  The CARES act was passed in the GOP-controlled Senate first.  Then it was blocked by Pelosi for a number of days until she realized the political mistake and was passed pretty much as it was originally developed by the GOP-led Senate.  So no, Nancy Antoinette....let them eat ice cream! gets no credit.

So as usual GFYs sources are wrong.  It appears he has been afraid to go to the drug store to get his meds, he is more unhinged then usual.  Hopefully they will deliver instead.
