Articles about Sweden’s lack of COVID control are showing the disease is winning.  Interestingly, your home state (GA), and Sweden have very close to the same population, but GA’s death total was 1132 yesterday, while Sweden is about 2,300.  Also, read that over half of Sweden’s population lives alone.......GA’s “urban” rate will be much higher!

So the number of cases per 1M in population between Sweden and Georgia is about the same but the Swedes have more deaths per 1M.  It actually proves my point.  Sweden with few restrictions equivalent in cases to Georgia which shut down its economy.  Sweden with nationalized health care has more deaths per million in population than Georgia with our private heath care system.  All works for me!

As for them living alone, that doesn't mean they don't go to work, go out to restaurants, etc.  Now if you told me they lived like hermits then I would ask how the virus is spreading at all.......but obviously they don't and it is.  But as for cases per million population it is right in line with GA.  Deaths are higher for some reason.  May be their population is older, may be the health care system, may be some other factors or combination of factors.  

It's starting to sound like to me you'd like to see the restrictions continue and an economic depression.  Not me.  I see the whole picture and have no plans to sit in a corner sucking my thumb and worrying about this virus.  Be prudent, social distance, practice good hygiene and isolate yourself if you are not feeling well.  And if you are older or have some other co-morbidity for crying out loud use common sense and stay isolated.  The rest of us will go about our lives, get the economy going and so on. 

And if things do indeed take a turn for the worse they can ramp up the restrictions.  But have faith....be optimistic....hope for the best.  This will all be over just like every single bad flu season, pandemic and plague has in the past.  And be assured there will be another one.....could be worse, could be more mild, but it will happen again.  Hopefully we've learned some hard lessons about what not to do.

Not advocating more hiding under the bed.  Just following the subject you, or Trump, started.  GA’s case load is about 25% higher than Sweden’s, and Sweden’s Death exceeds GA by 130%.  Very different demographics between populations, so can a conclusion be drawn?  Not in my opinion.  Interestingly, Lake Martin’s home county has one of the highest COVID rates in the state!  Invasion from the east??

Tallapoosa County--unless im mistaken--most of the deaths have occurred at the VA home where they are weak, elderly, & in poor health as well as maybe some employees caring for them --a few otheres have been nursing home related

That data is correct but I would not call tallapoosa county the lakes home county.  Folks in Elomore and Coosa counties would argue that characterization.  Lol.  Everybody knows Elmore is the lakes home county!  ??

I refer you to the comments made by those in the county that are in the know that are readily available in the media. Here is the quote from the paper:

Alexander City Mayor Thomas Spraggins suspects the spike is linked to the state veterans’ home in his city of nearly 15,000. Down the road, Dadeville Mayor Wayne Smith, whose town has about 3,200 people and is the county seat, thinks the cases are spreading from Tallapoosa County’s neighbors.

“We’re right next to Lee County and Chambers County, particularly Chambers County, and it seems a lot of it is coming from there, because we’ve got a lot of interaction with those counties,” Smith said Thursday.

So no Wix, it has nothing to do with people from other states but it does appear to come from the east so you got that right.  Nice try.

As for the cases in GA versus Sweden, the difference is 18% higher in Georgia per million.  Not exactly dramatic but once again I will make this point which seems to continue to be lost on you.  Georgia shut down their economy.  Sweden did not.  One would think the caseload would be the other way around, right?  Regardless, the difference is not significant in the number of cases per million.  And I will ask for the umpteenth time, what specific demographic differences account for this?  Just saying it doesn't make it so.

Since the river bottom is State property, I would say the eastern part of the dam is in Tallapoosa County, and the western part is in Elmore county, and the river bottom is neutral ground!
