I read the paper and would like to see peer review comments on their methodology.  Seems to pretty much confirm what I've long believed, the shutdown of the economy likely had limited positive impact on the bell curve.  Of course, there may be differences between these European countries and the U.S. but I can't think of them.  Seems to me Europe relies significantly more than the U.S. on public transportation which is a hard place to social distance.  Europeans also like to eat out and socialize.  They need to get out of their dinky apartments.  If this holds up to scrutiny from peer reviewers then hopefully it can be an influence on policy decisions regarding these shut downs.
