I was not a fan of George W. Bush, who I felt was blindly led into the Iraqi War for no good reason. I appreciate that after he left the WH, he avoided politics, and didn't speak publicly. I have read that in person, he is a very warm person with a sense of humor. In the last couple of days, he put out a video that talked about the need to set partisan politics aside and be united in the fight against the virus. it's a very warm and heartfelt video. So along come Trump today and berates GWB for not supporting him during his impeachment hearings and blah, blah, blah. Trump is trying to walk away from the virus and pretent it doesn't exist anymore, because he is worried about his re-election with an incurable (as of now) virus and a slipping economy. I know that others here disagree with me about the virus, about what needs to be done with the economy, etc. But I have to say that his video raised my esteem of GWB. The man that led us after 9/11 - a shocked and heartbroken nation.

Like Jimmie carter, did not like his presidency but you got to love the man! Every time I think of GWB I remember his fumbling with his raincoat in the wind during Trumps inauguration! Lol. It was too funny and he kept such a good humor about it.

I have always like W. He is a genuinely decent man and I don't hold Iraq against him. And I agree that we need to be bipartisan but I think its a pipe dream. The TDS is too strong.

we met Mrs bush when she spoke at Samford University where our kids were--such a lady--her engagement fee was $50,000 which she quickly endorsed back over to the Shool of Education

I was very tempted to go see here when she spoke at Faulkner. I think she was an ideal first lady - and I do mean lady.
