The answer is very simple.  The US has so many deaths because of mismanagement of large cities and metro areas by stupid dimokraps in New York who forced infected patients on nursing homes, for one.  Add New Jersey, Massachusetts, Louisiana, Illinois, California and a few more dimiokrap states and the answer is very simple.  Facts are coming out that dimokraps want Trump to fail so badly, they are willing to promote deaths for patients.  Think about it!!

Why have Democrat controlled states and cities failed? 

You do realize that the top 5 states account for 50% of the total cases and 59% of the total deaths in the U.S. and absent them we wouldn't even be in the top ten worldwide, especially as the pandemic is now spreading to Africa and South America.  And what do those top five states have in common?  They are all blue and are all controlled by Democrats.  And lest you want to bring up population the top five states in cases and deaths per million in population are likewise all run by Democrats. 

I know, it's all Trump's fault because, well, Orange Man bad, right?  In twitter parlance Goofy this is called being self owned.....welcome to a very left wing dominated club.

Thanks for the explanation. I can always depend on my Forum buddies on the Right to explain. I never realized the good old USA is the only country with poverty, high rises, nursing homes, and seniors where the virus is more deadly. Seems like the Right is suggesting the answer to lower the death rate is to guarantee each person with an income  to eliminate poverty in this country of ours.

It has nothing to with wealth......high end nursing homes are having the same issues.  What it is really all about is the competence of the government.  Compare and contrast NY and Florida.  Cuomo forced nursing homes to take virus patients.  DeSantis took the opposite track and said he didn't care what Medicare calls for, no virus patients in nursing homes.  So now we know that the reason Cuomo did what he did was to save money on Medicare.  DeSantis decided costs would be outweighed by the health benefits and he has been proven to be correct.  Cuomo is a disaster and the media fawns all over him.  DeSantis was prescient and all they do is trash him and wait in hopeful expectation for bad news while the most incompetent governor in the country is lionized as the best one to replace Creepy Sleezy Uncle Joe.

The failing is not just due to one person, or stupic democrats, or unscientific republicans and such talk is asinine.  It is multifactorial due to the absence of a public health infrastructure, slow ramp up in testing, poverty, significant burden of poorly controlled chonic diseases despite the availability of the most advanced medicine in the world, urban congestion, massive influx of cases from Europe when we were worried only about China, our inability to truly limit mobility as strictly as other countries (this is part of the price of the freedoms we enjoy), reluctance to wear masks, lack of PPE, and yes Mr Trump's initial dismissal of the magnitude of the problem (note that he was not the only one).  We should stop boiling it all down to red vs. blue so we can cheer for our teams and blame the other one.  It is too simplistic and doesn't solve anything. I await your presumptions about my politics and your judgment.
