Turns out they used bogus data causing Lancet to retract and WHO to do a 180.  This is what happens when you have TDS and will believe anything as long as it makes Orange Man look bad.  I suggest you do a little research on the firm Surgisphere Corp and you will be utterly shocked that their data was used for anything other than toilet paper.  That the researchers and Lancet fell for this fake, phone, made up data is telling and highly worrisome.

The NEJM study can be dissected and criticized very readily as well.    Maybe good science and method, but poor choice of cohorts.

Shocking to me that they were so eager to use unverified data from the cast of characters at that company.  And even more shocking that in their haste they didn't seem to do even a cursory amount of due diligence.  And when they did their source reneged, likely because they made it up.  Want to bet they are already wrapping up the company?  Science has gone really rotten lately with its emphasis on money and politics.

TDS is a serious illness that renders the victim speechless. But I'll wait for the real science to report.

thanks MM.  hummingbirds btw will love your feeders until you get back.  My feeders last around two weeks between refills.

I agree with you Carson, those hummys will love that feeder all week long.  We used to fill them only part way and change it every few days but then someone clued us in.  we now just fill it and dont mess with it till it is empty.  Ten days to 2 weeks sometimes.  The hummys never slow up.  Maybe I just have a lot of alcholic birds...lol.

I take it Archie posted something stupid on this.  Don't know cause I have him on ignore.  The specific reason this study was withdrawn is that the source of the data that the authors used refused repeated requests to release the raw data to peer reviewers.  In academia, that tells you automatically that it would not pass scrutiny.  When the authors learned this they were forced to do something that is highly unusual and rare for a publication like Lancet.  One of the downsides of relaxing quality control processes at any time but especially during a crisis that has been coopted for partisan political gain.  The data was either junk or fabricated altogether.  I am going with the latter given the history of the six employees that worked for this fake company.  TDS does really bad things to people.....just look at leftists that post on this forum.
