Well it's about time!  I haven't read the opinion yet, but the U.S District Court Judge (Sullivan) had clearly overstepped his authority.  Hopefully they (D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals) noted that this was essentially a political hit job of the worst kind, but that would be expecting too much.

We now know what the President knew and when he knew it on this issue. We shall learn more when the Durham report comes out and I suspect if there are indictments we will learn more about Obama and Biden's involvement in colluding with Russians to influence the election.

Still not sure if that is *when* they knew it - I have a feeling things were already in the works before that, I doubt they decided in that meeting to destory Flynn and I doubt that was the 1st they had discussed the phone calls etc.

I have to say that I am glad for Flynn.  I can't imagine what it is like with your life teetering on edge for several years, not to mention the cost of all those lawyers.  

I still have questions about the Russian connections.  I don't like the thought that our retired generals involved with Russian Ambassadors, whether it is legal or illegal.  Flynn is a child of the Cold War and should have known better.

These have been addressed ad nauseum but because you only get your news from Politico or one of the BS's I will educate you.

Why did Flynn lie when questioned by the FBI?  He didn't lie to the FBI and the notes taken by Strozk indicated that they did not believe he was lying.  I know this is hard for you to understand given your leftist brain, but someone can actually not recall exact details of a call when asked about them and not be lying.  Of course if we had the original 302's instead of the heavily edited ones by partisans ordered by Obama to get Flynn we might actually know what he really said.

Why did he plead quilty?  He pled guilty because DOJ and the Mueller team not only were ruining him financially but threatened to ruin his family and specifically threatened his son with financial ruin.  Maybe you wouldn't do that for your son but I know I would for mine and in a heatbeat.  Especially if I knew he did nothing wrong like I did nothing wrong but clearly see what the govt can do when they come after you with unlimited resources.

They tapped his phone and knew the truth when he was questioned and he lied.  They didn't tap his phone, they were listening to the Russian ambassador and the only reason Obama and Biden knew it was Flynn was his most likely illegal unmasking.  The last part is blatantly false and even the FBI agents, including the highly partisan Strozk stated they did not think he was lying.  But stupid people with TDS refuse to see truth if it doesn't feed their mental illness.

If he were a Dem, this Forum would be shouting lock him up. But, this Forum can turn an otter into a breaver if it makesTrump look good.  The only people that look bad in all this are Obama, Biden, Sally Yates, Susan Rice, James Comey, Peter Strozk, and Robert Mueller and his scumbag partisan attorneys that worked for him.  The appeals court and DOJ castigated them in this and Durham will hopefully come along this summer with indictments.

Flynn was the incoming National Security Advisor and not only are these kind of discussions during a transition the norm, it would be malpractice to not have them especially given the actions of the Obama admin as they were exiting the building, of which we are learning more each and every day.  And I thought you would know this but senior military staff have all sorts of contact with other countries senior military staff, even ones we have a less than cordial relationship with.

Yes, having spent many years in international relations, I am well aware of Senior leadership relationships with foreign countries.  However, I also understand the context and parameters of those contacts and it is not what Flynn was doing.  It was a little too cozy and casual for my taste - but that is just my opinon.  You are entitled to yours.

I'd be interested in what exactly informs your opinion on Gen. Flynn and having unusual contacts for someone that has held the many positions he has in the military and the government.  I admit I am not familiar with all the details but I would expect someone like him to have a significant amount of contact with foreign government and military officials and tons of relationships and contacts.  I am also not familiar with what constitutes a too cozy relationship.  What does that look like?  Going on vacations together?  What is the line between having relationships and contacts necessary to do your job and being too cozy?

Well, the Generals are expected to encourage buildng military to military relationship, which includes counterpart visits.   Depending on the assignment, they sometimes get exposure to other foreign military in classes (like at the Air War College and other military training facilities) And in planning joint excercises.  This is with our allies, not our enemies.  So it would be extremely rare for them to be meeting with Russians or Chinese, etc.  Those kind of private meetings just don't happen.  It's all very structured.  

Too cozy for me would be private meetings without staff involved.  No specific agenda or goals involved.  I personally think that a lot of these generals get out of their depth.  Their lives are very structured when they are in the military.  People hand them a schedule every day, arrange all of their travel and contacts and pave the way for them, and hand them their briefcases at night.  They don't even run their own errands.  They are surrounded by the military community from the time that they are lieutenants.  That's why Mattis and Kelly and others have not kept their job with Trump - they are used to a much more structured environment.  

I have nothing against Flynn.  I think he was in over his head.

OK, I get what you are saying.  Where is the evidence that Flynn did this more than any other person in his position?  I've seen a lot of criticism of him but not that one.  Perhaps you could point me to that so I can understand your concerns.  What I do know of former military officers is that what you describe is very unlike how they operate.  From what I know about Flynn he was top notch and you don't get to where he got acting the way you think he did.  I am open to being wrong but I would sure like to see the evidence.

Well you got it partially right.  I'm fine with the appeals court decision.  I'm not a lawyer and if the appeals court judge ruled, I can't make a legal argument against the decision.  I believe Comey is a lawyer, so if he thinks it is right, then it must have legal merit.  

What I said was that, in my view, the meetings were too cozy.  He likely was not thinkng about the optics.  The reason optics are important because it leads people to question your integrity when you are a public figure.  In the case of Trump, many people think he is too cozy with Putin and calls into question his integrity.  And I think Flynn got caught up in that.  A more experienced person would have steered clear.  Of couse he had no way of knowing at that point that the whole of the Trump Administration would be constantly called into queston.

Only reason the "optics" of Trump being anything regading to Putin is the attempted COUP by Obama, Biden, Strozk, Comey, Clapper etc.
