Trump was interviewed by Hannity tonight and had this to say about Bolton...

President Trump on Thursday blasted John Bolton ahead of the publication of his tell-all memoir “The Room Where It Happened,” calling his former national security adviser “crazy” and saying that “all he wants to do is bomb people.”

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Fox News’ “Hannity” airing Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, Trump digs into Bolton just days after the former national security adviser won a court battle allowing him to publish his memoir despite objections from the White House that it contained classified information.

“He didn’t do a good job,” Trump said of Bolton. “He wasn’t smart. He wasn’t sharp."

 Bolton has been around for years. Why did Trump hire a National Security adviser who was crazy and all he wants to do is bomb people? Trump promised to hire the smartest and best people...he lied. Time and time again he has hired and fired. Way over his head when it comes to selecting qualified staff...except Ivanka and Jared who are both experienced and qualified relatives.

Everyone should have the guts go back and see the approval this forum's Trumpistas heaped on Bolton (Hound excepted) when their Dear Leader hired Mr Bolton and awarded him lavish praise!

What you are seeing is one big ego vs. another big ego.  That's all.  I assume that Trump hired Bolton because Bolton has serious conservative creds.  I'm sure that Trump didn't realize that Bolton also has a huge ego.

This makes Trump even a bigger idiot....why hire him just based on this disagreement?

WSJ: You didn’t ask him about Iraq before you brought him into the White House? If he regretted that?

Trump: No, but it didn’t … I knew all about his policy on Iraq. But that didn’t matter, frankly. Because he made a terrible mistake. And so did everybody else involved in Iraq and the Middle East, frankly. I never thought it was the right thing to do. And I’ve been proven right.

To use a phrase we often invoke when evaluating a system and its security for the first time:  We don't know what we don't know.  What actually transpired between the two will probably only be known to the two of them.  We don't know what Bolton might have promised, or at least indicated to Trump in order to get the prize appointment he seemed to want.  After-the-fact spin may or may not have a shred of truth to it.  But, politics is politics, and like international relations, what actually happens may never see the light of day.

Bolton is a chit-bag and is profiteering with his book.  But was he a good national security adviser?  For sure he lands squarely in the hawk camp. But even the military is well grounded in the tenets of national power, and is well aware that military action is usually the last one invoked. Trump is a chit-bag who toys with the truth as it suits his goals.  But what are his goals?  I suspect coming across as a nice-guy diplomat is not among them.  I do know that in spite of the countless roadblocks put in front of him by his detractors he has done an amazing job running the country.

A good summation of Trump vs. Bolton. As is true with almost any "subject" that is brought up for discussion, there is always much information that remains "unknown" that makes finding the "truth" even more difficult.

I totally agree with the last sentence of your post. The list of his "notable" accomplishments(many of which have never been attained before in the history of our government), during almost four years of his Presidency is "amazing". The "stamina and perseverance" that he has demonstrated during his Presidency beginning with attempts by Obama/Biden and their crew to deny him the Presidency, and facing nothing but complete "resistance" from Democrats in the "House and Senate", along with efforts of the FBI and certain members of the Justice Department plotting over three years to "impeach" him is "remarkable".

Heck, when I look at Obama/Clinton administrations I am hard pressed to think of one political appointee that would be good enough for Trump. So bad he wouldn't even take a chance on them like he did with Bolton.
