Read the highlighted portion and give it some thought folks.  A positive Wuhan ChiCom Chinese virus test can be caused by having had the common cold.  And how many Americans get the common cold each year?  Every year, according to the CDC, the average American gets between 2 and 3 colds......sounds about right.   Be skeptical of the numbers of Wuhan cases folks.....very skeptical.

60 Minutes did a story on Sunday night about these Antibody tests being garbage.  FDA allowed companies to self certify, so everyone said theirs worked.  Further independent testing prove that the vast majority did not work.  The antibody tests are supposed to show if you have had the virus and are supposed to suggest that you have immunity - which has never been proven - they have no idea really, if you have immunity or for how long.

These are NOT the same as the COVID test to see if you have an active infection.

Right, but if you test positive for the antibodies you are counted as a Wuhan visus case even though it may be from a common cold. That is why I say be skeptical about the numbers.  Also, saw a post from a nurse that indicated that every test they sent in came back positive so they sent in a couple of unused swabs and they too came back positive.  Not sure if those were viral or antibody tests.

Hound is correct. Martini is once again drawing any conclusion he desires from bits and pieces of information that he only superficially understands. (See NEJM screed). He won't change. I would just warn others to be aware that his stating things emphatically with excellent cut and paste skills doesn't translate to factual information.

I never said this was for viral tests and I posted the actual portion from the CDC website which indicated it was about the antibody tests.  Can you really be that obtuse?  Wait...don't answer that. By the way, ever look up the definition of proliferative?

Do you have information that refutes what the CDC indicated about antibody tests, which are counted as Wuhan cases, can also be positive for the common cold?  You are literally fact free and close to brain dead.  Nothing she posted refuted a thing I posted.

We all now are aware that there were many problems with the multiple antibody tests as far as specificity and sensitivity issues.

If an antibody test can't differentiate between the many coronoviruses that cause minor upper respiratory illnesses and CoVId 19, it is worthless.

Keep bloviating about things that you only peripherally understand and keep proving my point.

What don't I understand?  Antibody tests can be positive for the common cold.  Antibody tests are counted as Wuhan virus cases.  Ergo, be skeptical of the numbers.  You have yet to refute one thing I have said but accuse me of bloviating.....which is a great word and I do bloviate on occasion.....proliferative not so much.
