This is the “Lakes on Line Forum”, not the lake Martin Forum.  It has been pretty much Shanghaied by the nut cases on Lake Martin though who regularity demonstrate that stupidity is terminal with no cure in sight.  I enjoyed a trip to Lake Martin about 25 years ago with a client couple for whom I designed a house.  I think that was before the virus stupidius took on epidemic proportions along your wooded shores.  I’m sure we do agree on two things, you have no interest in having me coming back to Lake Martin and I have no interest in doing so.  I have no more desire in hanging out at a rightwing militia enclave on a lake in Alabama than in Montana or Idaho woods!

I've been coming to Lake Martin probably as long or longer than anyone on this forum. There have always been a disturbing number of confederate flags displayed over the years and occasional racist remarks painted on Chimney Rock. Don't believe for an instant that that represents everyone here or even the majority opinion. It is Alabama so change is slow. Believe me, the times they are a changin! (Just not on this forum).

A reader comment following a web article about Trump's falling poll numbers came from someone who said that he did not know a single person in his neighborhood that was not a Trump supporter.  A responder to his post recommended that he ''should get out of the mobile home park on occasion.''  I would say that certainly applies to most folks on this forum!

Now I know some Neanderthal is going to post that the comment was insulting to ''common'' folks and not funny.  I will take that assessment underconsideration the next time Trump says something especially stupid (such as suggesting injecting clorox or advocating fewer Govid tests as a way to reduce the number of positives) and has to send out his press bimbo to insist he was only joking.  90% of this forum immediately falls in line and condemns the Democrat's for lacking a sense of humor!
