I am fine and have no intention of buying a ''big gun'' because the likes of you assume I should not feel unsafe in the ''Atlanta HOOD''.  Now if I hung out around your neighborhood with it's extreme high density of gun nuts I might reconsider.  I'm sure you and your gun loving fellow travelers would like to at least congratulate and meybe even to join the couple of hundred black folks carrying loaded guns who marched at Stone Mountain this past weekend demanding that the Confederate images be blasted off the mountain.

Archie, just a deflection from the real issue today.  Your ATL DEMOCRATIC mayor running for moral cover only after an 8 year old is murdered at the occupied Wendy's.  This death is on her.  Her inaction and paralysis is consistent with her fellow Dem mayors, governors and elected leaders who will issue more words and little if no action to back it up.  And she is considered a potential Biden VP choice?  Is your cupboard that barren?

She has completely failed to admit to and act on a serious problem that threatens the life and wellbeing of all citizens and cried out for her immediate recognition and decisive response!  Reminds me a lot of another bunch of politicians who refuse to recognize and take decisive action on an equally threatening health crisis!

Crisis?  Definitive action?  The Georgia COVID death rate stands at 27 per 100,000.  The US average is 40 per 100,000.  New Jersey, that bastion of conservatism, is 8 times that of Georgia (once described by the media as the US's Number 1 Death Destination when we re-opened).  Even though Texas is experiencing a COVID outburst, their death rate is 9 times less than NY and 30 times less than NYC.

So what is happening?  No crisis, but the younger age groups, who fair far better after contracting COVID, are getting tested, and I say absent a vaccine or other miraculous intervention, are assisting in the development of herd immunity.  Less hosts to infect and the virus peters out.  Pure science and no politics.  Am I alarmed by the numbers?  No, nothing we can do, even shutting down economies is going to eliminate this virus.  Practice proper distancing, make wise choices and maintain meticulous hygiene if you are 60 and older or if you have significant co-morbidities.   For now, the numbers are rising, hospitals are not overwhelmed, hydroxychloroquine has been shown, despite media panic, to be an effective course of action and we must ride out this wave.  There will be more, but a crisis?  Far from it.
