Cafe 123 in Opelika, if they are open for dining.  I also like Acre in Auburn.  Both have great menus and are consistently good.  Nice atmosphere

I recommend Waverly Local which is just off Hwy 280 a few miles north of Auburn/Opelika.  You will not be dissapointed.

Cant go wrong with acre.  Superb!  If ur on lake dont forget about springhouse.  Especially if by boat. They will come get u at pier.  Happy Anniversary

Agree  on Springhouse.  Ate there a few days ago and it was outstanding.  It is about 45-50 miles from Auburn, however, and be sure to make your reservations several days in advance, especially if you plan on a Friday or Saturday dinner.

Been to Acre 3 times in 2 years, disappointed each time.  The Depot about 2 blocks from Acre has been outstanding the 3 times I've eaten there.  A little pricey but excellent seafood.

Agreed - my top four already listed above. Depends on whether you're starting at the lake or in town. My ordering independent of that would be:

Springhouse (by a lot!)

Waverly Local

Depot

Acre

Our Place in Wetumpka is very nice, locally owned--we go there every December for our anniversary--surprised no one mentioned it ! much prefer it to Springhouse ! last  time there food was almost inedible & servers rude--we dont go back
