I have long been concerned about this guy but his latest statements about NY and their handling of the Wuhan virus squarely puts him into the abject idiot camp.  NY and NJ did it exactly wrong and tens of thousands of people needlessly died in both states as a direct result of their failures.  That Fauci thinks otherwise tells you everything you need to know about how politicized he is or has become...I can't decide which. 

From this point forward I will no longer believe anything he says until it is confirmed by other reliable sources.  What a complete loon......history is not going to be kind to him, nor should it.

Fauci has been in the same liberal idiot, gubment job for about 35 years.  He has spent his entire tenure covering his ass.  His statement simply attempts to cover his mistakes.  Of course, NY and NJ are experiencing a down turn in cases....they don’t have many well people left.  It’s simply a play in statistics to cover.  He’s probably the idiot who gave Cuomo the idea to send Covid infected patients back to nursing homes.

I am officially in Wix territory now.  So let me repeat....Dr. Fauci is a bumbling, incompetent, nincompoop idiot of the highest order and anyone that listens to and believes anything he says without verifying it with reliable sources is no better and likely a simple-minded sheeple that probably still believes Trump colluded with Russia and stole the election from Biden.....just getting ahead of the news.  Oh, and Maxwell didn't kill herself.

No, you and Fauci have it exactly wrong and I showed the graphs that proved it in another thread.  Their cases and death curves were a classic one you would expect without any protective measures while the states being criticized today have followed the flattened curves that were projected if they did everything right, which they did and are now being pilloried for it by a biased media.  Every state could have done the same as NY/NJ and had the same result and their hospitals would have been overwhelmed like they were in NY and NJ, they would have had the same rates of infection and death per million of those two states which are the highest in the country by far, they would have had bodies piled up in funeral homes and hospitals and so on.  And they could have had the carnage in nursing homes as well.

To date NY and NJ have the highest deaths per million (1,777 and 1,675) compared to 236 in Florida, 141 in Texas, 382 in Arizona and a whopping 263 in Alabama.  I can assure you that even with the current trends of the extended curve and the spike in cases in these states that none of them will come close to the carnage in those states you and Fauci believe have "done it right".  Adjusted for population and it is factually irrefutable that they did anything right.

These two states were completely incompetent and they have reached herd immunity but at a great and unecessary cost to lives and businesses.

If that does happen we will know they didn't reach herd immunity. Interesting to me that the CDC blamed the spike in cases in southern states to northerners vacationing.  That doesn't make a lot of sense to me although I suppose it was a contributing factor.  Just be glad we're not New Zealand.  I have no idea what they will do but either way it is a tough choice.

Assuming that we all survive this and eventually it goes away or there is an effective vaccine, we'll be able to tell what worked what didn't work.  In the middle of the pandemic, you get speculative data at best.  

I understand that Trump intends to restart the virus briefings.  I guess the comments about his lack of leadership on the pandemic have finally gotten to him.  The last time he had virus briefing was when he suggested that people could be injected with disinfectant.

First of all it wasn't at his last briefing.  It was an earlier one where they were discussing novel options like UV light and disinfectants to kill the virus.  And yes, he made the statement that maybe this was a possible option which the media immediately lied and said he suggested people be injected with Lysol or Clorox.  He never specifically mentioned any product and used the generic term disinfectant and wondered directly to Dr. Birx (who was sitting next to him) whether that or the light was an option. 

Of course when you only read the fake media headlines you would come away with the false impression that he told people to inject themselves with disinfectant which is an absolute lie.  And I would note in that very same briefing he told people that they needed to follow the advice of their doctor about treatment options.  So him musing about whether there were novel options like UV light or disinfectants to kill the virus was immediately spun and misrepresented by the media.  And recall, this was not long after the woman injected herself and her husband with pool chemicals that killed him and people tried to blame Trump because he mentioned HCQ as a possible treatment option.

The lies continue and based on Hound's comment it would appear that they are working.

Being retired, I have had the time to actually watch his briefings.   It was during his discussions of treatments  and he said, looking over at his medical advisors who were seated agaist the wall, disinfectants kills this stuff in a instant... maybe we could look into injecting disinfectant?. He did not say drink it and he mentioned no product by name.    There was nothing in his demeanor that suggested that this was a joke. There was no joke - he was seriously suggesting looking into it.    Now you can try to twist it any way you want as a joke.  It wasn't a joke.  

That wasn't the reason it was the last press briefing - the briefing itself continued to go down hill with him rambling, and hostilities between him and the WH press Corp - it got nasty, he made an abrupt exit.  He didn't do any more of these daily shows

When did I say he was joking?  I don't understand why you feel the need to inject something that I never said into the discussion.  That is dishonest at best.  He was completely serious asking the question as to whether this or UV might work.  So what?  But the media no doubt distorted what he said and based on your prior post you bought it hook, line and sinker.  And as I told you, this particular discussion did not occur in his last briefing.  I frankly think they are a waste of his time given the hostility of the media trying to make themselves the story and to make sure they get invited to the all the most chic cocktail parties where all the other true believers will pat them on the back and congratulate them for lying about what the President said.

In terms of the libs flagging posts - it would be really funny if the webmaster actually bothered to check those in here, and if you flagged things inappropriate just because you did not like what someone had to say that they got a nice long timeout from being able to post anything and strike 3 you are out of here.

Maybe I'm overly sensitive because some others here routinely try to put words in my mouth....or my posts to be more accurate and it bugs the crap out of me.  And no doubt Trump is unlike any President we have ever had but that is not necessarily a bad thing....at least not always  He is a brainstormer like most CEO's in business.  We throw ideas against the wall and see what might stick.  Some aren't so good and eventually get tossed.  We call it sausage making and that is how Trump views these things....for good or ill.  If the press weren't so universally hostile it would not matter so much.  But they are and he makes things more difficult for his administration when he does so.  But the reality is that regardless of how careful he is they are going to spin it to try to make him look bad and the TDS sufferers will eat it up.  But I do wish he'd make it harder for them than he does at times...and maybe often.
