Does anyone know the average time it takes to kayak from the Horseshoe Bend bridge to Jaybird landing?  We want to do it but would like to know a time frame for planning purposes.

4 hours if the flow is good and you don't stop too often to enjoy the beauty.  If CATFISH is still monitereng the Forum, he can tell you anything you want to know.

hope you like paddling.  turning the corner and seeing the RR tressell was a beautiful sight  when we did it. we missed take out at jaybird and was forced to go on to sturdivant. prefer upper river riding, pretty views and a good ride.

Wow! You way over shot.  I wont miss Jaybird.  I've past it going up river to the shoals and been by land a few times.  But I don't do it for the workout, I do it for the fun.  I prefer smaller creeks too.  You have more shade, but I am looking forward to doing this river run.

It's a fun and picturesque paddle, but you can do a lot of dragging if the flow is low.
