Sure he will.  You don't think the scientists who work for the government and won't lose their jobs won't tell him to shut down the government?  But more to the point, under what authority can he shut down the economy?  Under what authority can he tell me I can't go to work?  Cite where in the Constitution he has the authority to tell a free people that they cannot work.  It isn't there.

Under the same authority that was used to shut down the economy the last time?  (I do realize that it falls to the states to decide not the President).   He can say that now but if he is in office, it will be a whole other story, because he will actually have to worry about the economy.  Talk is cheap when you are only a candidate.  Before they get into office, they can say anything they want - remember Trump was going to repeal the ACA, but once you get in office, you find out that either you don't have the authority or you can't do much without Congress.

Right.....whatever shut downs that occurred were driven by state and local governments.  POTUS can advise one way or the other but not mandate like they were a king....hence all the Dem governors ignoring federal guidance and staying shut down to tank the economy.  This statement by Biden is some insight into how he thinks.  But I can assure you he will try because we are seeing right now that red states are well on the way to recovery and blue states are dying.  Whether the people in those states will wake up on not is a good question.  It seems like all they are doing is relocating to sane states and then voting the same stupid way.  They are parasites.

But like the former pen and phone president unless someone pushes back and or takes it to the courts a democrat can do what he wants to do, while a republican who does anything will have lawsuits and hearings.

I blame republicans in congress for not doing the same lawfare back to demonrats and not holding them to the same standards.

They have abdicated their proper role to the bureacracy and the courts so they are not on the record and can't be held responsible.  They are all about one thing, getting reelected so they can continue to enrich themselves and their families.  This is a bipartisan issue and until Congress reclaims its proper role we will get more of the pen and cell phone nonsense from the executive and legislating from the bench by activist judges.

And yet, we keep hearing about his kindness and decency.  I don't think the majority of people understand economics at all.  You can be kind and decent and still really screw things up because career politicians don't really understand the way business works.  When I watch the financial news every weekday morning, I hear a lot of CEO talking about recovery by 2024-25 and that is big corporations.

Jimmy Carter was a decent person.....he was also a disaster as President.  But I don't think Joe Biden is a decent person, he is a corrupt politician that used his position to enrich himself and his family.  He is beholden to China who gave his son billions.  Regardless of all that, even if he were a "decent" man, which he isn't, he won't be in charge.  Harris, Comrade Bernie, Nancy Pelosi and the Squad will be setting the agenda.

I believe you are right - but you left out BLM, that has donated millions to his campaign.  I've said before that I think he is just a paper candidate.
