I think she is a very good choice for RBG's seat on the Supreme Court.  I believe that she was one of the front runners for Justice Kennedy's seat after he retired, although it ultimately went to Kavannaugh.  While the Dems will hammer her on her "pro-life" stance, I don't think they will conjure up a scenerio quite like the last confirmation hearing.  Or, perhaps I underestimate them.  Time will tell.  Good luck and god speed, Amy.

Haven't you heard?  She is involved in human trafficking.  That is how she got her two Haitian kids she adopted.  I don't know the details of her adoption but I have read the details on CJ Roberts and HIS adopted children.  It was an illegal adoption and that is how the Deep State compromised him.  Look it up. Facts are out there.

I wish I could share your optimism.  After what they did to Kavanaugh I don't think there are any barriers to how depraved they can be when it comes to SCOTUS nominations.  But I agree with you, she is very qualified and seems to be an originalist and textualist and will do what a judge ought to do......evaluate laws based on whether they are Constitutional and leave the legislating to the Congress.

I have to say that I was a bit disappointed he chose her and not the other woman that he was considering.  According to the morning talking heads, the big issue that they are putting forth is that she will aid in the overturning of Obamacare - which when you get down to it, is about Obama's only real legacy.  And of course, in overturning Roe v. Wade.  I have always been pro-choice, but at my age now, it really isn't an issue for me that I especially care about.  If it is the will of the court to overturn Obamacare, then I hope there is a plan to replace it with something better.  It's not like Obamacare is this wonderful healthcare solution that should not be touched.

One issue that was brought up on the morning talk shows by Democrats is that Trump is hoping to stack the court in hopes that if the election goes to the Court to be certified, he will have a majority vote.  But given how the court operates, I don't think he can count on that.

I think Ted Cruze is correct in that we need an odd number on the court, should the election winner be determined there. We certainly don't want a 4-4 tie, which could bring about a real constitutional crisis.

Yes, I would agree with that.

I would take what any talking head says with a huge grain of salt.  In terms of judicial approach I think all were about the same.  She was on his original list in 2016 and was second choice to Brett Kavanaugh, and frankly was probably his first choice but that was the deal he made with Kennedy to get him to retire.  She will be excellent if you don't want a judge that legislates from the bench.

I'll withhold judgement until we see which way she goes on some landmark cases.

Fair enough but as of right now I'd say it is more likely she will see things the way Thomas and Alito do......but I have remind myself I said the same thing about John Roberts and it is safe to say he has been uneven at best.

I expect that once they are on the bench, that their rulings and opinions will be based on Constitutional law and not on personal beliefs.  I have to say that is one of the things that worries me a bit about ACB  - that she proclaims she is a devout Catholic, and I have no problem with that, as long as her religious beliefs don't interfere with her opinions based on the Constitution.  I'm not convinced she can separate the two, but that's why I am willing to await judgement on her.  I don't mind that she is conservative.

She has a long and well documented record with none of what you are concerned about in it.  Time will tellthough.  Roberts was suppossed to be conservative too, but he is compromised by his adoption scandal.

Well, I am past the age where Roe V. Wade is an issue for me and I don't have Obamacare insurance, so I don't really care if either one gets overturned.  I just wish someone, somewhere would come up with an insurance program for the majority of people that have to buy on the open market, that would actually not have high deducibles.  But again, it's not really relevant to me since I have Medicare at this point.  I have some opinions obviously on some cases that are coming up, but nothing that I would get out and protest about.  I guess the only real issue for me is gun rights and I don't see her seeking to constrain the 2nd Amendment.
