because Pope Francis has made it clear he supports legal same sex Civil Unions!! To see his church do the right thing and the American voters do the right thing just 2 weeks apart may be more than he can digest!!!

Pay onto to Caesar what belongs to Caesar.  Pope said that all Gods children need to be part of a family and if a civil union allows that to happen, he is ok with it.  Marriage was not part of the interview.  

It seems you love to question and tear down any tradition.  But He told us you will be persecuted when you follow Me.  He is right!

You are correct that Pope Francis did not say anything about same sex marriage and neither did I in my post (I have no problem whatever with same sex marriage but marriage was not the subject).  Pope Francis did not advocate the RC church perfrom gay marriages but he did advocate that loving relationships AND families for same sex couples should be legally sanctioned as a recognized Civil Union.  That is a giant step for any Pope and I suspect it is causing some degree of severe heartburn for lots of mossback Catholics such as MM and apparently you.

to read much too long 1986 rambling ravings of a mossback Pope that just a well could have come from a Pope 1586.  I was referring to the very reasonable and loving statements made in 2020 by a very reasonable man who happens to be Pope.
