So they have an article for 4 hours now that mispells Tallapoosa as Tallapoosee.  Not only in the headline, but 4 or 5 times in the article also.  The only time it is spelled right is in a quote that obviuosly was cut and pasted into the article.  I wonder how much longer they can go on.  They cut back to 2 days a week for the print edition but kept subscription prices the same.  They think folks are going to pay for digital access.  For what?  Liberal BS by a bunch of 20 somethings.  The article I read about WP roads in the print edition last weekend has still not turned up on the digital side that I have seen.  The opinion page is more sports than news and its all liberal.

Mispelling the county name 5 times in one article is just sad.

Did not read article, so don't know context.  However, Tallapoosa was formerly Tallapoosee, and is so noted at the Tallapoosee Historical Society and Museum.

Hmm.  Never heard that.  So why is it billed as Tallapoosa everywhere else?  And the quote that had it spelled correctly refered to it as TAllapoosa and that was from the owner.  Obviuosly he realizes the value of using current nomenclature if he wants folks to find it.  Also you would think that the little known Spelling might have been explained in the article so as to avoid confusion and not look like idiots who cant spell.  Obviuosly I am NOT a fan of the Outlook.  Maybe they just wanted to show us howsmart and well informed they are...lol.

Edit- It now gone from the website, down the memory hole I guess.  You can still search it out but it is not featured on the haomepage anywhere.  Sure rotated out of the line up in a hurry.  I guess since RL had nothing to do with it they didn't feel the need to keep it up and promote it.

Spelling was early try by us to spell the Creek Indian name for river.
