Some highlights from last night from my admittedly biased viewpoint.

1.  I thought Kristen Welker was determined not to be Chris Wallace II.  While I think she definitely tried more often to change the subject when Trump was landing big blows, she was more balanced than Wallace.  So Chris Wallace was the big loser last night because her conduct exposed him for the biased approach he took.

2. Biden was his own worst enemy.  On more than one occasion she tried to save him from the corruption and he went back to it. In fact, he opened it up almost from the get go.  He obviously understands this issue is hurting him with undecided voters but he actually did more harm than good last night.  And opening it up to let Trump say "Russia, Russia. Russia" was a huge unforced error.  It was like he hadn't noticed the whole Russia collusion hoax.

3. His closing statement about going away from oil by 2025 was another massive unforced error.  Add to that his challenge to have Trump prove he said he would ban fracking was beyond belief.  There are literally dozens of examples of him saying that, not to mention Kamala Harris, not to mention his campaign website........  But more to the point, the economies of Pennsylvania, New Mexico and some other purple states would be decimated by a ban on fracking or moving away from oil in 5 years.  We all know it can't be done without destroying our economy but he will be controlled by leftists that will not care.  But this statement alone is going to hurt him badly in many key battleground states.

4.  He literally lost on many issues that he could have scored points.  The Chinese virus being the main lost opportunity.  He allowed Trump to correctly point out that his plan basically plagiarizes what has already been done.  On immigration how in the world could he have let this get to the kids in cages?  Welker thought she was serving up a gotcha on that one and Trump decimated Biden with the question, "Who built the cages, Joe?"  He left him speechless with that one......if someone in Trump world came up with that line they deserve a huge raise.

5.  Biden lacks the energy or mental acuity for the job.  Think about it, he has been in hiding for 4 days to prepare for the debate and he literally ran out of gas after about 45 minutes and really struggled for the last half.  Meanwhile Trump was still going strong despite having been on the road doing rallies for the last four days and is back on the road today for more of the same.

6.  Was very disappointed the issue of ACB, SCOTUS and court packing never came up.  I suspect Trump may not have cared because most people may not understand how packing SCOTUS will destroy the country.  But it is important and Biden is following the failed footsteps of FDR with appointing a commission.  This is exactly what FDR tried but he grew impatient and forced the issue only to lose.

7.  Biden threw Obama under the bus on immigration while Obama is on the road trying to save him.  I can only imagine how this went over in Obama world.....not well I can assure you.  Trying to take credit when it is helpful and blaming Obama when it is expedient is not going to help with black voters.  Nor is the entire discussion of race where Trump highlighted all the things he has done while pointing out that Biden called them super predators and sent hundreds of thousands of young black men to prison as a result of the 94 crime bill that he actually wrote.

I have no idea how important debates are in the final equation.  But if they matter it will only be to the benefit of Trump.

That's how I know my take is correct.  If cnnBS, pmsnBS, etc. have a different take then I know I am correct.

I agree with your points.  I thought Biden looked weak and ineffectual.  I notice that he likes to go "folksy" and start talking about the kitchen table when he's got no where to go.  Funny thing, I don't know how many people are actually sitting around their kitchen table anymore.  Shows how out of touch he is.

I thought the bottom line was that Trump is still a free market guy and favors a strong economy; Biden would have people more dependent on government programs, meaning higher taxes.  I don't care how many times he says he's not raising taxes on those making under $400K a year.  He, like most democrats, really do not understand economics.

And when Joe checked his watch?  Wondering how much longer until he can skittle back to his basement?

Joe fell into the "I'll appoint a committee" democratic trap to look into SCOTUS packing...... When Democrats don't know what else to do, they appoint a committee (who will of course, recommend expanding SCOTUS).  What a sham.  He won't take a stand before the election even though he said he would.  Revealng himself to be the total political animal he is.

Speaking of which, I thought that Trump scored major points in pointing out that Joe has had all these years as a politician doing nothing, but now, he's going to do all this stuff.  And when he says "I was the Vice President" what he really means is that Obama either didn't think his ideas were worth pursuing or that he didn't really have Obama's ear, like he likes to pretend.

Trumps downfall is that he keeps talking about a health care plan, but doesn't give any real specifics, and punts by saying it depends on how SCOTUS goes with ACA.  He should have this nailed down.

The question concerning "fence line communities" posed to DJT is an important one in my opinion.  However, the question was phrased as if this is a new  phenomenon under current Trump EPA regulations.  If one were to research a bit, you would find the issue is one that has been around since at least 2003, Bush years and then 8 years of Obama/Biden.  Why was Biden not asked why he failed to address these fence communities during not only his time in the WH, but in the Senate as well?

We all know the answer, don't we.

We do a fair bit of fence line monitoring which is fraught with all sorts of problems.  The reality is there are very few residences that close to facilities so you have to do dispersion modeling which introduces all sorts of other complications.  Frankly, while this issue is important to some people it is far too esoteric and of importance to a tiny fraction of Americans that it should never have been included in the debate.

But you are certainly correct, we have been doing this monitoring for quite some time and it has been an issue for a long time.  But in terms of human health risk I am pretty sure it pales in comparison to other public health issues that impact a far greater proportion of the population.

It was Hillary that called young black men "super predators"......Dementia Joe Hiden only called them run of the mill "predators" on multiple occasions.  So ya got us there Joe.

Then again, Hillary didn't write the crime bill that put young black men into prison by the tens of thousands, that was Joe Biden.  And the guy that reformed it with bipartisan help from Congress was Donald J. Trump, POTUS.....not Obama or Biden during their 8-year reign of terror and cashing in on the job with foreign countries.  Also, have yet to see where Trump said if blacks didn't vote for him they weren't black.  Or Trump telling us he can stay in his basement because of those black ladies stocking store shelves.  Or praising Robert KKK Byrd as his mentor and friend.  Or opposing desegregation and not wanting his kids to grow up in a "racial jungle".  Or calling Obama clean and articulate and bright and good looking.  Or saying poor kids are just as smart as white kids.  Or Indian-Americans working at 7-11 stores.

Yep....those were all Dementia Joe Hiden statements and actions, not the stable genius Donald Trump who as Herschel Walker stated so well, is not a racist.  No wonder Trump's approval rating with likely black voters is up to 46% as of today.
