Folks, we do not know the real numbers.  We do not know the number of cases.  We do not know the number of hospitalizations.  We do not know the number of deaths.

But... the sky is falling!

HINT:  prior to February, 2020 there are NO instances of any doctor saying that a mask - N95 or lesser - would provide protection from a virus.

The staistical curve for the behavior of viruses has not change since we began documenting it after the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic.  The only effect that we have had... is to extend the course of the virus and create a climate of fear and economic chaos.

We have chosen herd mentality over herd immunity.

Based on everything I have read I think the most charitable way to express it is that 229K people with COVID have died.  I am not even sure that is true since I've seen any number of stories of people's loved ones that died of some pre-existing condition or an auto wreck or whatever and the death certificate for some reason said COVID.  There is literally no way to know for sure.  I do know that the average age of those that died with COVID was in the late 70's and average number of co-morbidities was 2.6.  At least that's what the CDC says.

As I told my employees yesterday we are entering the next cold and flu season so expect a jump in cases, hospitalizations and deaths to be reported.  And to not panic as the mortality rate continues to drop and is no worse than the ordinary flu.  Take extra precautions if you are vulnerable or have to be around someone that is......otherwise get on with your life.

just asking because i dont know--but--do hospitals get reimbursed if they classify a death as caused by Covid ? my daughter is a microbioligist at a major hospital & does covid testing and says their (actual) cases of covid  have been very few; if they die, she doesnt know

Under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act hospitals are paid a 20% premium for Wuhan virus patients.  Whether or not they game the system is anyone's guess.  Knowing how badly they were hurt by the shut down I can imagine them getting desperate and manipulating the numbers.

I find it strange that I have never known anyone that died from the regular flu but sadly I am currently almost to double digits of friends and acquaintances that have died due to COVID 19.

I find it strange that I have known several people that died from pneumonia caused by the flu but literally know not one person personally that has died from Wuhan virus and only personally know a handful that have tested positive, none have been hospitalized and none have died. 

I think the real message here is that I'm glad I don't know you because you defy all the odds.....assuming you are being truthful, which I somehow doubt unless you are the most unlucky person on planet Earth...or maybe the unlucky ones are those that know you.

I had an Atlanta neighbor who caught the V from his home health nurse therapist --he was 90 & had massive stroke 2 months before
