Interesting statement form GA Sec of State...a Republican from Yahoo News

Georgia's Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperberg isn't holding back at this point.

Raffensperger has been at the forefront of an intra-party feud in Georgia over his handling of the election, which he has defended ardently, and unfounded claims of voter fraud. On Tuesday, in an interview with Atlanta's WSB-TV, the secretary reportedly took the fight straight to President Trump, who he suggested had no one to blame but himself for his defeat.

Trump repeatedly railed against absentee voting to the election, and Raffensperger believes that if he didn't sow distrust in the system, he could've picked up Georgia's 16 electoral votes, arguing that 24,000 Republicans who voted absentee in Georgia's GOP primaries did not vote in the general election. Raffensperger went so far as to say that Trump incidentally "suppressed" his own base with his complaints.

I wonder how he knows that those 24K votes in the primary didn't vote in the general.  As with any election there is always finger pointing but I would sure like to know who decided in GA to spend $100M on the Dominion system given all the issues and concerns about it.

I think we already knew that.  I used their machines when I voted.  The question is why did they award the contract to them given all we know about them.  Someone did not do their due diligence.  And now we find out that the head of the software firm is on the Biden transition team.  I can only imagine the outrage if Trump did this.

They approved the system over the objections of the Democrats.

I don't remember Trump EVER railing against absentee voting. He DID, however, rail against the mass mail in voting that dems somehow got introduced for the first time in history by using the fear of Covid. Trump and the rest of us conservatives railed for good reason against mail in ballots! I thought MM and others had made clear the difference between mail in ballots and absentee ballots. Do we need to go over the differences again? And would you expect the Sec of State to openly say, "I screwed up!"? Or would he be more inclined to present a CYA attitude? Makes no difference to me that he claims to be a Republican.

I would love to see Trump pull this out, but realistically, I don't see it happening. As others have stated, these investigations are more about future elections than correcting this one. The integrity of our future elections are at stake. Right now, I and millions of others don't trust our election process and that has to be remedied! To say that Trump is to blame for degrading the integrity of our election process IMHO is just plain ignorant!

I believe that when Sidney Powell is done it will be Kemp and the SoS that will be taken down for the kickbacks she has reffered to.  She alluded to Maria that it was a couple of Republicans that they discovered had taken Dominion Kickbacks.  Now they are scrambling to cover their ass.

I agree with you that Trump railed against mail in. Look at the results of the states that used mail in...Nothing changed.  Why did so few Republicans use absentee compared to the Dems?  Because,  so many on the Right used the term mail in and absentee  to mean any ballot you mail and were encouraged not to be wimps and go to the polls. Just my opinion.

computer records show that 24,000 people who requested and cast a Republican absentee ballot in the primary did not either request and cast an absentee ballot, vote an early ballot in person nor vote in person on Nov 3rd!  Gee, one would think somebody with such such a supreme intellect as MM could figure that out. Computers are scary!

Of course GA's Secty of State is making a huge assumption that all these 24,000 would have voted for Trump.  I think it is more likely that most of these 24,000 were among the few Republcans who voted against Trump in the primary and were so disgusted with the idiotic ego-maniac that they chose to relax at home rather than vote in the general.  It is not out of the realm of possibility that if most of them had held their nose and voted it is likely Biden's lead would have grown, not shrunk.
