Will rioters and looters be a little or a lot - they are going to either way, only difference is going to be how much is going to get smashed and burned ( and how many officers and national guard will be injured or killed ) while the MSM and politicians turn a blind eye.

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin could still receive his pension benefits even if he is convicted of killing George Floyd.

Chauvin could receive more than $1 million in benefits despite being fired from the police department after a video surfaced of him kneeling on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes as the man begged for him to stop. He was later charged with second-degree murder amid massive protests.

A number of states allow for the forfeiture of pensions for employees convicted of felony crimes, but Minnesota is not one of the states where this occurs.

The pension fund is partially funded through taxpayer money.

Chauvin, 44, would likely be eligible for annual payments of around $50,000 a year or more if he chose to start receiving them at age 55.

The benefits could stretch to $1.5 million or more over a 30-year period.

So he has no right to appeal because he is not wealthy?  Not sure that is how it works, Judge even said that Mad Max gave him a reason to appeal.

As an officer he will not be going into general population unless they want him dead, and if they do then the prison/guards etc should be brought up on the same charges he has faced.

Have to say I'm surprised at the verdict.  I expected manslaughter.  Never heard of involuntary 2nd degree murder.  Maybe that charge removes the premeditation aspect?  I agree he will appeal and will likely end up being convicted of a lesser charge.  But the jury has spoken and they convicted......probably not what I would have done but I didn't hear all the evidence.  I do think the 9 minute video is what did him in.  I can say this with some certainty, if I were a Minneapolis police officer I would not use any type of force to arrest a person of color.  I would just let them go.  It's simply not worth the risk.  And if I had any other career option I would take it.
