Sorry for earlier bad postings. Question: Do the majority of weekend landowners on the Lake keep their boats at their docks during the summer or do most store the boat in a marina and call ahead for weekend access? I know this calls for speculation but I am trying to figure out the more common approach. Thanks very much!

I think it depends on the boat you have, the dock you have and how often you come to the lake. If your boat is a fiberglass runabout that can collect water if it rains and you don't have a covered dock, you probably should put it in dry storage. (Bilge pumps do work, but get clogged with debris and have been known to run the battery down and then let the boat sink. ) If you have a pontoon, they likely won't sink, but surely should be covered to prevent sun & weather damage.

Boats rarely get stolen on the lake, so security is not too great a concern (unless you have a high $$$ boat!).

If you don't come to the lake frequently, dry storage is the best thing for piece of mind. All of the marinas offer a 'seasonal rate' so you can just store for the summer (or winter) seasons.
