I have been very interested in this topic for some time. I just recently finished my OW certification and while I was going throught the class we had some Intructors with very first hand knowledge of the lake. And what I was told by them is the underwater town is where the old Kowliga Creek used to run. That there was a small town at the base of this creek where the farmers would cross with there horse and buggies while delivering cotton and iother stuff to town. Well Kowliga creek ran perpendicular to the kowliga bridge somewhere in the middle of the openwater. So if you where to stand in the middle of the kowliga bride and look back toward the area where the rock is you would be looking at the pathe kowliga creek took. Now from there I am told the town is in about 80-115 of water bu that the town is in mostly intact and that the old brick postoffice is still very much intact. But as previously stated the visibility is limited and the temperature is very cold. I have hopes of one day seeing it for myself but for now I am getting more training and I want to log more dives before I go down there. There are however other intersting dive sites on Lake Martin such as the old bridge, the ghost fleet, and the B-25 that wrecked in the water long ago.

How can you think about diving when you can't even spell ghost? " gost ", give me a break. " I " is capatilized and obviously you meant " you're " when you said, " i think your talking about ". Where do you people go to school in this day and time?
