Just out of curiosity does anyone have an idea of the cost and strength of a GeoStone vs. a poured concrete sea wall?

Any other comments or insights regarding GeoStone vs. poured concrete would be appreciated as well.

Don't really know about strength, but I have a Geostone seawall and have been very pleased with it. Can't imagine needing one any stronger. Looks much better than poured concrete to me, and Fred Agee (Geostone owner) was great to work with.

Corkman:

Would you mind sharing with me the estimated cost per square foot.

Based on my research it appears the Segmented Retaining Walls costs around 75% of the cost of poured concrete, which somewhat surprised me.

Thank You

Mav,

I really don't remember the cost per foot, but I think the poured wall and the Geostone wall were about the same price and I chose the Geostone because I liked it better. Don't see how Geostone could be 75% of poured. I'm leaving now for Lake Martin and I have some info at the lake house that I may can find that would tell the cost/ft.

Have a great lake weekend.

For what it is worth. Just had a Geostone seawall installed and it looks great. Really makes a difference and the Geostone people are really great to work with. Be careful who you get to install it, talk with David Agee at Geostone and they can give you several installers.

There are some areas on the lake that will not allow Geostone for some reason. Make sure you are not in one of those areas. Heard Russell Lands was one of them.

Our wall is 200 feet long by an average of four feet high. They had a problem with a giant rock and had to jackhammer about 20 feet laterally. Also had a set of steps installed to a small beach area on the edge of the property. The whole thing came to $20,000.00 plus or minus a couple dollars. The original quote was just over $21.00 a square foot.

The website for Geostone is:

http://www.geostone.com/

They have a good video on how the wall works and also connection strength etc.

Good luck and get the estimate in writing . . .

Mav,

Could not find my info on Geostone sea wall this weekend, however, the info from Tbird is very close to what I paid also. My seawall is about 150 feet with an average height of about 4 feet, (600 sq. ft.) also with steps and total cost was about $13,000. Go to Geostone website and click on "sea walls" and mine is on the first row of pictures (pictures 4-7 on first row).

Hey guys,

who did you use to install your geostone wall? I have one name that I received from a geostone rep but I'd like to have a competing bid.
thanks

You are posting to a post that was last used in 2006...14 years ago. May I suggest you post it as a new post.
