How can you tell what type of fish are on your fish finder. I have a Hummingbird 525. I know that crappie tend to ball up around structure and that somtimes bass will be "stacked". Is all that correct ??? I have seen fish in traingles also. Whats a good way to tell the difference between bass and crappie and do Brimm show up also ?? Need help with this please. Any info is appreciated

According to David Wharton http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/depthfinder_fishfinder.html
The sonar cannot distinguish between a gar, a carp, catfish, or a plastic jug for that matter.
You will just have to know their habitat they tend to accumulate around.

I have just noticed that some fish stack up differently. Most of the time crappie are in ball but I have found alot of places where fish are stacked and even in triangle formations. I've pretty much figured out how to spot bass on though.

I would like to know what catfish looks like on the finder other that sitting on bottom.
