The lights do work but remember that if there are no bait fish around your dock the you will need to create a habitat that will draw them and also a source of food that will keep them around your dock.

Green lights are extremely effective for drawing every type of fish. But take catfishin's advice if there are no bait fish then bass and stripers wont come. If you can afford it get one that is submeged these work best. I have caught tons of fish fishing around lights during the summer with shad raps. Get one if you can.

Thanks for the response. The habitat seems to be the key to hold the smaller fish that bring in the bigger fish. Bass, Crappie and Cats. What is the best type of habitat to complement the Green Light. I found this web site http://www.ky-lake.com/brush_piles.htm they use buckets to attract algea which bait fish like. What do you guys think?? Thanks

I wouldn't use trees or limbs even though they make the best habitat. You will have a tendency to get hung more with the larger fish than catching them. I would use things like tires with weights that you can sink and buckets but don't junk up your area. Put just enough to give the bait fish a place to hide and the feeders will be the key to keeping them around. Automatic feeders and feeder blocks are really good.

It's illegal to put old tires in the water.

Is it O.K. to sink 5 gallon buckets? Provided they are clean with rocks inside to hold them down. Like the website mentioned above.

Either way, the idea is to create a artificial habitat for the feeder fish. Good luck with it and let us know how it works out for you.
