can anyone tell me where the shad are right now. I can't seem to find any live bait to help me find the stripes. are there any stripes running towards the stillwater area of the lake?

great question, I have been told that they, shad, are hard to come by on Lake Martin. Now on Logan Martin is a different story. Have you seen any stripes, I have not. We get them on top this time of year, not so good this year. Hope your efforts pay off.

There were a ton of shad balled up around twenty to thirty feet at the mouth of Sandy Creek and in the cove on the backside of Young's Island about two weeks ago. The white bass and spots were all under them and killing white hair jigs and jiggin spoons. I also saw some shad being busted near the shore there that may be nettable but the bottom is too rocky for a cast net I think.

Thanks for the info. I will look for the shad and report back.
