Went out on Saturday and Sunday in Sandy Creek. There are plenty of spots biting. There are some shad but not much. Water temp 56 to 58 degrees. Used a small Rattle Trap. Caught all fish near the shore. I went out for stripers but could not locate any fish or schools of shad so I switched to bass. Anyone have any luck with stripers. What are there patterns right now? I have fished Smith for stripers and I am quickly learning that Martin is harder to fish because of its size. I think the water is still a little cold.

Pontoonfisher, My Wife and I were up for the day on Saturday, just goofing around and we caught two small stripers on shad raps around a dock in a small inlet around the Blue Creek Area. They were 11-1/4" and 12-1/2", my wife caught th e smaller one but she did catch the largest fish of the day, a spotted bass at 13-1/2". Had fun even though it was on the chilly and windy side.

Fishing has been good for me, too. I went out for a few minutes (literally) on Saturday after the wind died down and caught three on Shad Raps while just paddling around. Windy chunk rock banks have been working for me this spring. I wouldn't mind hitting Blue Creek at this time of year, especially where it enters the lake. From the maps it looks like it could be big enough for a nice White Bass run.

I was at the lake Thurs - Mon and caught a ton of fish. I caught 3 largemouths over 7 pounds and a couple of spots over 3lbs. Ever bass i caught was in less the 4 feet of water. You could see them swimming shallow, then throw to them. They will be on the bed for the next 2 weeks. The crappie are also shallow , well some of them ( 4ft or less) the rest are in about 8 to 14ft near shallow water. I will say they will be on the bed in the next week. I will be back this weekend, the next couple of weeks is going to be awsome!!

It started 2 weeks ago. The wife and I went weekend before last and caught BIG spots on chunk rock in the middle of the lake saturday and loaded the boat with smaller, but all keepers, large mouth and spots sunday in the creeks around docks with 4 to 6 feet of water under them but near deep water. It's got to be great this weekend.........I can't wait !
