I will be hitting the water for the first time this year this coming weekend. Does anyone have any information on where the stripers are running?

Has anyone marked any or better yet caught any down around the Dixie Sailing Club or is it too early for them there?

Thanks for the information!

I caught a few around the Wind Creek area. One weighed 14 lbs.

I marked some fish between Dixie Sailing Club area and the dam. They were hanging on the edges of the main river channel about 50 feet deep. Could not catch any of them.

I was up at the lake this past Friday & Saturday, went out early (5:30am)Saturday morning caught a few (3) small spots. Had to be back by 8:00am to make a 8:15 phone call so started trolling caught one more small spot and was just about to quit and I hooked something of some size about 100 yards from our dock. It turned out to be a 31" (10lb-4oz.)striper. That was at about 5 min. to 8:00 in about 30' of water but was only about 12' down water temp was about 79. Went out later 5:30pm +/- trolled a little more and caught 3 more spots, largest was about 13".

I've been catching a few spots and an occasional striper by going out early and late finding underwater points in about 10 or 12 feet of water and fishing over these with a fluke on top. They will come off the point and hit it on top. I could also drag a worm arcoss the points and catch just as many but I like the excitement of top water strikes.
